I used it about 4 years ago for a year, then went off for a year because my ears would be red and feel very strange; then used it again with propecia, but used it at a fraction of the recommended liquid dosage. The eye thing began then, with the ears still burning daily around 6 pm (after using it around 7 am and propecia at the same time). Eventually I could not wear contacts while using it. Lately I dared to use it again, and even a hint of it had quite an effect.
Seems to me that it is an allergic reaction, maybe to the propylene glycol.
I wanted to know if anybody had the same problem, and of those, which found a solution. I heard a long time ago about minoxidil in other solvents, but I heard it smells funny in the most common alternate solvents, or cosmetically is quite a step down.
It seems to give me chronic dry-eye that my eye doctor said he had only seen in elderly.
I'm 29, with frontal.
