I have been using rogaine for 8 months now without missing a single dose. Each month my hair progressively got better and better to the point I was very happy with the results. Now, at month 8 my hair seems pretty lifeless.. And thinner. Is this just a cycling problem? There's no way I responded this well to rogaine only to have it stop giving me benefits at 8 months. I'm freaking out

I'm not; prior to now, my hair loss was completely stopped and it was reversing. That's why I hope to god it is just a shed

You really need to be on Finasteride in order to combat your male pattern baldness effectively. Minoxidil no doubt gives many benefits, but the treatment alone can only do so much until DHT and your own genetics keep destroying your hair. Have you been on Finasteride before? If not, do you plan to take it?

I understand, but I was reversing my hairloss without propecia...how can it just change? I can't take finasteride. My DHT levels are actually low. Taking that would no doubt give me side effects.

Minoxidil buys time but it won't maintain hair for the long term considering that it doesn't inhibit DHT. I recommend that you make an appointment to see a hair transplant surgeon as they'll be able to help if Propecia is an option for you. Side effects happen in a small percentage of men who take the drug, approximately in 2% of cases. If you do get side effects, you can always quit the treatment and they'll subside.

I've been on Dutasteride for well over a year now and haven't suffered any negative side effects. These oral 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors have a good safety profile so I wouldn't worry too much if you decide to take Finasteride. :)

I just can't risk it. My
DHT was 17 in a range of 16-79. Taking propecia would put my DHT around 6. Thats bound to cause systemic problems

Minoxidil helped me. I could use that alone until I was in my forties. Used to be a Norwood 4 (2013).

Check out my pictures now! I take .1% Topical Finasteride, 30% Minoxidil, and .25% Progesterone.

Went from combover to a buzzcut (#2 sides/#3 on top). Before, my short haircuts would show my bald
spots on top.

Take a look for yourself at my progress:

Do u think this is a shed? I'm confused man

Idk man... That's why I'm so confused. We all know the sheds and cycles with rogaine and I'm just hoping this is one. My hairline hasn't moved its just the hair seems like there's less. Hopefully it's just a shed

Pavi has good hair. He was in the success section.

Pavi,

If you're really concerned, just use concentrated Minoxidil. Believe me, if fixed lots of issues
I was having.

Also, you will probably be saving your hairline (which was never bad either).

I was having great results.... That's why I hope this is just a shed

This hair loss thing is definitely an emotional roller coaster...some days I'm borderline panicking and on the verge of major depression over how my hair looks, and other days I'm like, "eh, it's not too bad." I'd give it a minute before you freak out too much.

Thank you for the great advice. I agree, my hair looks like it use to some days and other days I cry myself to sleep. It's something a 20 year old shouldn't have to be dealing with man

rogaine will not stop hair loss. The results you seek will come from inhibiting dht with finasteride

I don't know man. I completely stopped my hair loss with it for 8 months. I think I'm just shedding now though

Don't lose your gains.

Seriously, try something topical if you feel it's getting that bad.

Good luck. Just try something stronger.

Don't know what to say. A lot of guys in their early twenties have success for some time.

I think it was just a shed.... Hair doesn't look too bad anymore
