Hi
Don't know if anyone has posted about doing this before, I tried a search and got zero.
Quick Update - Diffuse thinner, 40s, was on finasteride for 6 years, quit 3 months ago. Fed up with sides. Added minoxidil about 3 years ago. Now using minoxidil and nizoral only and going ok.
I've been using the foam for about a year or more, but have had my hair shaved right down, so no problem applying it.
Started growing my hair out again and now it is at a length where it does not feel like it is properly getting to my scalp when I apply it, so I end up using what seems like half a can. Feels like most of it just gets stuck in the hair and acts as a volumizer only.
I was going to switch back to liquid, but thought I'd try an experiment first, as the liquid obv. takes ages to dry and is greasy.
I took a can of foam and squirted it into a heated glass jug. This melts the foam to a clear liquid just like the normal minoxidil liquid. I then put it into an old minoxidil liquid bottle with dropper and left this to cool down. After cooling down, the liquid solidifies a bit, but shaking makes it liquid again. It looks like a thin greyish watery glue when cooled.
I applied this with the dropper all over and can feel it getting down properly to my scalp now. After rubbing it in, it dries almost as quickly as the foam does and does not seem to feel greasy. Can feel that heavy headed effect after application, so know it is being absorbed, but I did apply too much initially.
Anyway, thought I'd post this in case anyone else had thought about trying this and was curious like me.
I will continue to use it this way and see how i get on.
