Minoxidil Foam Makes My Hair Greasier Than Ever

I was using minoxidil liquid 1.5/2mg twice a day for 1.5 months and I've recently switched to foam Sunday after my derm advised me to use foam instead of liquid.

My face is INSANELY greasy so is my hair and kind of itchy. I feel like the foam is responsible for that. I am the only one who experienced that?

yeah it made my hair greasy too. my head itched all the time. Eventually I got those racoon dark circles under my eyes no matter how much I slept. It also made my face puffy and I just looked older in general, sort of worn out looking.. It seemed to age me 10 years. 4 - 5 month after being off it my face went back to normal.

Emu oil is supposed to help inflamed scalp. maybe massaging that in at night would help. good luck.

My hair itches too way more than with the liquid... it's like my face loses its elasticity. I have started to develop bags under my eyes too like a raccoon.... like cartman in South Park

Why?

I find that too, particularly after I have just applied the liquid. It gives me forehead lines after squinting - not a great look for a 20 year old lol

Surprisingly I didn't have this issue with the liquid. Especially my face it getting SO oily like I can barely see through my phone screen right now the oil is getting on my keyboard mouse everywhere... just started right after I switched to foam.

Minoxidil reduces the rate your body produces collagen in the skin. Collagen gives skin elasticity, makes it stronger and makes your face look full keeping you looking young. Essentially minoxadil ages your skin. It gives alot of guys in their 20's early wrinkles and sunken cheeks within months of taking it. It's why I stopped and am now trying finasteride. The sunken eyes went away for me but the wrinkles dont completely go away after stopping. I'm using retin a and emu oil and it's helping reduce them.

If you decide to continue using Minoxidil make sure you apply it an hour before going to sleep because minoxidil can be absorbed in your pillowcase from your hair and then your face will be rubbing the pillow. It would be smart to change your pillowcase every night aswell. Thats the only thing I can think of to help this side effect but I'm not sure if it will do anything.
