Minoxidil + Finasteride: Working...but Only In Half Of The Head.

32 years old here, been battling alopecia since 15 with all the classic treatments but had not added Minoxidil to my Finasteride regime (been on it since my teens) until October last year.

Went through the usual phase of shedding and slowly but surely the left side of the hairline started to show some growth and the thinning stopped.

The right side didn't even sprout one new hair and keeps getting worse.

My left side has always had a deeper recession while the right used to be the "strong one" but nowadays the right one is just there immune to anything I've tried.

I'd understand if minoxidil hadn't worked at all (I know it's not 100% guaranteed), but just half? Do I need to up the dosage in the right side or try anything else?

This is a strange issue. Currently my right side is far worse than the left. I hope I do not run into the same problem.

Maybe your right side just needs longer to catch up ? You may want to consider adding a topical AA just for that specific area. Ru bring the most accessible. This ideally would block even more dht in the targeted area, giving the follicles a better chance.

How long did it take for the left side to start regrowing ?

I think it's normal for most of us to have a weaker side. For instance, my left side has lower norwood and at the same time my other side has thicker hair but deeper recession. u never know with this sh*t

Around 4 months which is what's normally estimated for minoxidil. It's something very rare.
The topical AA is a very good idea, I'm gonna try it since I'm out of options and the damn right side keeps getting worse while the left one does the opposite.

You truly don't, the right one keeps getting worse and the left one is getting better. Freaky as it gets.
