minoxidil/finasteride question

Hi guys

I'm currently on propecia (have been for almost a year) and minoxidil 5% liquid (3 months or so). I have read somewhere on this board that if I quit minoxidil I will loose all the hair I've have gained from it even though I'm still on propecia...? Is this true? Does the newly grown hair depend on minoxidil for staying in even though I keep blocking DHT with finasteride? I would hate to stay on minoxidil for the rest of my life... Any help is appreciated!

yea minoxidil is a life time commitment,at least until a cure or better treatments come along........use rogaine foam ,its really really easy and takes 2 minutes max to apply and isnt at all greasy,it dries immediately

I just don't understand... If it isn't the DHT that causes shedding - then what is? Are the hairs grown with minoxidil a special breed of some sort?

yes DHT does cause you to lose hair but when you regrow with minoxidil those hairs become minoxidil dependent............i really do advise getting on the foam,youll notice a world of difference
