Minoxidil: dosage vs results

i am thinking about stepping up my minoxidil dose, i just want to ask if there has been any studies that compare the dosage and the results

would i have more hair growth if i applied 1.5 ml of 5% minoxidil, is there a general limit where applying more minoxidil will not yield a better result?

they claim 8-15% minoxidil as the best % for optimum regrowth..he mentions a study but doesn't cite it though? The best we have is 2% vs 5% studies.

the concentration doesn't matter though, it's just a means towards a higher dosage

Why is it that they say that a higher dose is better but using 20% minoxidil (which I've never seen) is actually bad for your hair.

May be it is just like wine ? It is good for health if one drinks 1-2 glass of table wine per day with meal, but it is bad for health if one drinks too much per day!!!
