Minoxidil and what else could help my case?

Hello there,
This is probably my first post here. I've been checking the forum for quite a while and finally decided to consult experts around here.

I will have to give a brief about my hair-loss, hopefully that doesn't bother or tl;dr:-

At around 15 I was using hair straightener excessively especially after shower for 2 years or more. when I was 17 I even would straighten it and use a cap(I had a head full of long hair). I started to see a lot of hair on my pillow and my hair-loss issues began when I was around 18. My Hair-dresser suggested I use natural oils to cure it, but nope no results. He then suggested Minoxidil, I sadly started using it and didn't know I shall NEVER quit it. I don't really remember exactly what happened, as far as I remember, I started losing hair while on minoxidil (after the regrowth process was complete actually and having hair back). so I quit it and lost more hair than when I started with it. I started minoxidil again, quit it after getting my hair, and lost even more. Started again and stopped before I even see results cause I went to a doctor and he told me to stop using it. he prescribed Zinc vitamin and that's it. 1.5 year passed, the effect of minoxidil started working and I grew full hair again. but of course, lost all of it and kept losing till I became how I am in the attached pictures.
I visited another doctor, she prescribed Biotin/Bepanthen injections...I took about 8-9 times, but didn't get any results. probably increase in the baby hairs I think? but that was for about 6 months. She also prescribed Zinc, but no good results.

I surfed and figured that I may be suffering from male pattern baldness (since minoxidil lets the predicted-to-fall hair fall as well), despite that I lost hair from consistent use of straightener and cap.
I read about the big 3, and decided that I will go back to minoxidil and NEVER quit it again. I read that minoxidil will be less-effective after months or a year of using it(maybe I did lose hair because minoxidil became less effective before?) and that I've to use Finasteride with it.

I am really too scared to try Propecia that I felt like having imaginary side effects lol...

I bought a shampoo that contains (Argan, Jojoba, Emu, Olive oils and Keratin, Biotin, Xiameter Mem 1785 emulsion, Polyquaternium 7, and D-Panthenol)..The manufacturer said it will greatly help with Minoxidil as the ingredients/components kinda block DHT with a lower rate than Finasteride of course.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance..

Honestly Brother, your hair is pretty far gone... If you want to try to regrow any of it, you would have to try finasteride. minoxidil will only do so much. You need some kind of anti androgen, because it's very apparent that androgens are wreaking havoc on your scalp. You could consider RU and a high concentration minoxidil (10-30%) or even a topical finasteride. but with just 5% minoxidil, you will only get so far. Consider dermarolling with a 1.5mm roller as well. Shampoos won't do anything, but you should add a ketoconazol shampoo (nizoral, regenepure DR, etc)

Ah, I thought so..I know someone with male pattern baldness who has been on minoxidil and Finasteride and his hair is back like he didn't even lose anything of it. I wanted to try finasteride, I actually purchased finasteride and have been staring at the tablets for days now. I am over-thinking about the sides that I actually feel like going through them.
Have you tried finasteride? any major side effects most importaly hips/breast enlargements?
Can you tell me a brand of a topical finasteride tho? I haven't seen any local brands being sold around so far.
Aren't there any replacements for finasteride tho?

Thank you tho for replying.

You don't want to hear my major side effect, because it was a drastic increase in hair loss. :/ My body counteracted the drug strongly. My libido sky rocketed along with my test levels, and my hair shed like a dog. However, I think you should consider it. Start at a relatively small dosage and monitor your sides. The only "replacement" for finasteride would be topical AAs, such as RU. I have been using RU for about 3.5 months now. Nothing to report yet, aside from an anecdotal decrease in shedding.

The fact is, it's all kind of a gamble my friend. You live in Egypt, I couldn't really tell you about a company that ships topical finasteride to you. Some other members may be of more assistance. Also, if you use topical finasteride, there is no guarantee that it won't enter the blood stream and effect 5-ar everywhere. So...continue to do your research. You took the proper first step by presenting your case here. Definitely consider oral finasteride. I personally hate the drug, but will tell you it seems the positives outweigh the negatives. Research places around you that may have a topical solution and read up on RU. Good luck

I will read up on RU and see if there's anything I can purchase here in Egypt. if not, I will take your advice and have a small dose of finasteride and monitor my case gradually. I need to cool down tho, I wouldn't be able to monitor actual sides in my freak-out state lol.
Thank you tho, I really appreciate your help. Wishing you the best with your regimen !
