I have been on propecia 7 months now and havent really seen a change. Hair is a little denser, but still receding and crown is still thin. I decided to start Using minoxidil 5 percent 2 weeks ago in the front of my scalp around the temples..Does anyone know if that may help or am I wasting my time? I heard that 2 together works a lot better than just the finasteride a alone.. I still see hairs on pillow and in shower even been on finasteride 7 months..Is that normal too? Any help on these questions would be appreciated

Your situation is like mine, however according to Pfizer, Minoxidil 2% & 5% doesn’t help much in the temples area, so that I'm thinking of the 15% one from this site:

Maybe more experienced users can tell us if that site is a scam or not.

well the two have worked pretty good for me.

minoxidil does work in the front. It seems the only reason they can't claim it works on the front is because during the FDA trials it was only tested on the vertex. Here's a link to a article that showed it to be effective in the frontal regeions of the scalp.

I wouldn't go to 15% until you've used 5% for at least a year. If that doesn't work then try the 15%. Just because it has more doesn't mean it's going to be any more effective, just more expensive :)

BadHairDecade,

Do you think Minoxidil 15% would give a better results than the 5% one ?
However, what can you say about the "13 percent of placebo users" in your link, how is that possible ?

If you don't want to use minoxidil, finasteride or any other medical treatment you can do the following:

Massage your scalp for 3-5 minutes every day. That will increase the blood circulation and possibly make you grow a few hairs. So the 13% got their increase just from rubbing/massaging in the placebo.

I dont mind using minoxidil, except my head gets itchy..Is that normal or will more hair loss continue if its itchy..I mean the itch is tolerable but it still itches.

Or use Dr. Lee's one. I had the same problem with Rogaine (itching etc.). According to Dr. Lee that was due to the Propelene Glycol. He offers one without that substance and it works perfectly (itching-wise). SO maybe you could try that....
