I am experiencing rapid hair loss despite religiously being on Finasteride and Minoxidil for past 6 months.My hair loss noticeably started 4 years ago.I had been on and off with Minoxidil since then.But for past 6.5 months, I have been diligently applying Kirkland's Minoxidil 5% twice a day and Finasteride 1.25 mg once a day.Maybe I skipped Minoxidil 3 or 4 times in between, but I don't think that could be a problem.I started taking Finasteride(5mg pill cut into 4 parts) 1-1.25 mg per day 5 months ago.
Before I started Finasteride and Minoxidil 6 months ago,I had lost a good amount of hair on the crown but it wasn't all that bad.The density was less.Now after 6 months, I don't see any improvement there but I don't think it got worse than before.What bothers me the most is that 6 months ago, I had almost full hair at mid-scalp, frontal and temple region but I could notice that hair was shedding on those regions.Now after 6 months of treatment, I have shed so much hair on those areas that I can see my scalp at the front and mid-scalp area even when it's completely dry.I apply minoxidil on almost entire scalp area except for the sides and back.Both Finasteride and Minoxidil don't seem to work at all for me.It's so frustrating.People say that you have to give it a year at least to decide if it's working or not but I am not sure if they will ever work with the way it's going now.Do you think I should still wait for a year to see any positive results?I just want this shedding to stop and atleast have as much hair as I had 6 months ago.It's so depressing.Please help!
