I was on minoxidil 5% for about two years or so and about three months ago i started finasteride. I done a really silly thing and switched to 2% minoxidil at the same time as i got scared of premature ageing. about 2 months in i began to shed really heavily. is it possible that the switch from 5% to 2% is what caused the heavy shedding or is it likely the finasteride.
My hairline was never the problem. It was mainly my crown that was the problem but during this shed it seems that i have severely thinned from the top as well as the crown. My sides have also thinned a bit. Im thinking if the minoxidil addicted hairs have shed?
Can anyone shed any light or give any advice?
I have 50% less hair then three months ago.
