For someone that is interested in just slowing loss, as opposed to growing more, is 2% Minoxidil better?
Can 5% be watered down so a person does not have to buy the 2% and use the 5% he already has?

minoxidil is a growth stimulant so it does nothing to strike the cause of hair loss like you wish. It won't even slow it down it may regrow small thin hairs but DHT is still going to be present so there'll die after a few months making it pointless . Only anti androgens like propecia will halt or slow down hair loss

From my experience no they don't work, in fact there isn't a shampoo in the world that stops hair loss. Using a ketoconazole shampoo like Nizoral or Regenepure does help clean the scalp and may help a bit but youll still have DHT attacking you hair. You need to lower DHT levels which is the reason your hair follicles die, and that can only be done through an internal anti androgen like finasteride/dutasteride.
