Hi folks,

I'm 3-4 months in now, using Minoxidil.
I'm using Spectral MX5, 15% Solution, but my hair hasn't reacted at all, I think.
€dit: It's 5% solution, I was thinking for months it was 15%... stupid me.
Will have to try a 15% solution, but this stuff is not available anywhere. If anybody knows a cheap shop for 15% solution, you're welcome.

The questions remain:

I don't know at all, I will use it for the next 6 months anyway. But there was no shedding. Maybe there was, I have very short hair, so I don't see it.
And my hair loss is very slow, the thinning started in the last 4-6 years (I'm 26). I always had quite thin hair.

Maybe if the hair gets longer and I wait a bit more, I will get some shedding and growing. Can't tell that good, I'm blond and my skin on the head is very white, so I don't see new hairs too good.
I wonder, if someone had a similar experience.
Usually, everyone gets effects after the first few weeks, even the shedding. At least that's what I read from the forum.

Thanks for any help / information. I don't seem to get any conclusive answer.

Not everyone sheds, dont worry so much, just keep using it for another 6 months then evaluate it. Also, stick with the 5% until you know if its working or not

Thanks for your answer.
Will do. Wonder, if I'm just a poor responder.

As far as I can say, the hair didn't get much better. Maybe it's just too early to say something about it. The success stories made me expect fast effects like in the first three months new grow of some vellus hair.
I still have no blank spots, but I'm getting close. I think the thinning has stopped, as far as I can say, so far.
I'm also taking finasteride, so I'm still optimistic. If I can keep my hair at least like it is now, I'm already glad.

I started minoxidil in February, the 5% solution. I don't have any bad effects on my scalp, no rashes or anything, so that's a good sign for me. I don't seem to be affected by any sideffects.

What I can tell with certainty, that the hair in the front of my scalp slowed down the growth since I started using Minoxidil. This could be the start of some shedding, maybe.

Also taking Omega-3 and OMega-6 fatty acids and Zinc. Don't know if Zinc does any good, but it sure as hell won't be bad for my health. And I read the hair usually gets brighter or 'shinier' (I'm blonde). Maybe there is some synergistic effect on this.

The "don't worry" part is a problem. I am very sociophobic, massive social anxiety, to the point I get into obsessive-compulsive habits. My mind tells me not to care about what other people think, but I do and I hate the thought of people thinking of me badly.
I usually didn't give a damn about it for years, but now I do. As said, kind of a mental problem.

If you're already on finasteride then your chances of maintaining at the least are very good. Just make sure you are consistent with your treatments and you should be sorted.

I was unsure if minoxidil was working for me and made the mistake of stopping then 2 months later I lost ground quickly, luckily I am slowly recovering the hair I lost now that I have resumed treatment.

Dont expect results too fast subtle changes are difficult to notice because you see yourself everyday, taking photos every few months is the best way to keep track of progress. Quite a few times I convinced myself I was losing ground but looking at photos put my mind at rest.

Not everyone sheds, it's probably rarer to shed than it is not to shed, it's just if someone doesn't shed they're less likely to make a post about it online than someone who did shed which misrepresents how common shedding is.

And I would just say stick at it, at worst it's maintaining your hair which isn't a bad thing, stick with it.
