hey

ive been putting minoxidil 1x a day on my temples and have seen decent results. I am now gonna start putting it over my entire head and I just shaved all my hair off. So im planning to put it on 2x day, cause it so easy, until my hair grows back and then put it on 1x a day. Do u think this might mess up the effectivness of the minoxidil switching from 2x a day to 1x a day that quickly? thanks

well your plan is good, just do whats on your mind ... apply 2x a day will just give better results (well for some people) and after your hair grows you can switch to 1x and you should have no probs after

Hey

Im not sure if used the best wording. Im just gonna put it on 2x a day for about 2months until my hair grows long again, cause i shaved my head. Then after my hair is long again, im gonna just put it on 1x a day. Will doing this have any negative effects, which would not be seen if I just put it on 1x a day starting now?

thanks

You should be fine going from 2x a day to 1x a day, especially since you will only be applying 2x a day for two months. The only problem that I would foresee is if you stopped allying the minoxidil altogether.

Also, though there is no proof that applying all over does any good, I do it and I think that I benefit from it. Everyone is different, however...

All over applications have worked well for me, sure it can be a hassle but it beats baldness hands down.

Under20 - I honestly wouldn't bother upping it to twice a day for just 2 months, it's not long enough to see a gain over using it once a day, plus what if it causes a shed? Then you'll be reducing your usage before the extra minoxidil has time to stimulate the regrowth.

yall make a good point, but part of my thinking was that results can be seen as early as 2months if u apply 2x a day. Thus if I apply 2x a day for 2months, while my hair is short, I will get most likely get past the shedding stage and get onto the growth stage and then from there it will be 1x a and only growth? Is this thinking theoretically wrong? I saw thickening by 2months when I was only applying 1x a day, but Im just thinking that 2x a day for 2months might just speed up the process a bit.

You're obviously a good responder to minoxidil if you had thickening after only 2 months (it was about 6 before my hair did that) so, for you, going to the twin applications for such a short time may well help to kick-start the process.
