hi guys, first time posting here. I am interested to find out from you guys how long it takes your minoxidil to dry on your scalp (please include type and quantity applied).
I am asking this as Ive just finished about a year long experminet to see if dutasteride or finasteride would stop hair loss or if it was the minoxidil compound i was using prior that was working. As the previous compoung cam from ashely and martin ( i know i know) I didnt want to got back to paying thru the nose for what should be cheaper to get with a perscription. Anyway I am currently apply a formula that drys quite fast, I would say maybe 15 mins tops. at night i am using a different formula made from a different more lotion like base.
I found with the first ashely and martins minoxidil that i use to get dandruff from scalp irritation, but with a good shampoo this would fix the problem and i got great results from the gear. being about 2 weeks into these new formulas I have not found any of the irritation which is worry as it might mean that the minoxidil wont penetrate well enough to work.
Yes I have used just generic 5% minoxidil for 6 months but it had no effect (not even the thickening of hair on the sides of the eyebrows). talking with my compound chemist, who is a great bloke, I have learned that what base is used in the making of the compound is very import and it is this base that will determine how well the compound penetrates. Yes this may not factor in for some men, but it is significant for other less lucky individuals as I have found out.
So to sum up, let me know about your minoxidil usage and what it entails. Also whether or not you think shampoos are important in relation to helping the scalp be prepared for the compound to penetrate.
I look forward to hearing from you guys.
