Minimizing Mess When Cleaning Sfs Lace Piece (glue)

Hi, I have a front partial and use Ghostbond Platinum. The first few times when I got it done by a pro, the system itself came off my head relatively clean and most of the glue stuck to my scalp. Over the last month or so I have been doing it myself, and recently when I de-attach, there is a lot of goo on my system which requires quite some time to clean up with a cotton ball. Not to mention hair pull-through and other issues from having the glue stuck to the lace.

Any idea of what I can tweak to get back to relatively clean lace when de-attaching?

Some ideas but not sure what works:

• where/how I spray alcohol before de-attaching.
• How many layers of glue I use
• How thick the layers are
• How long I wait in between layers
• How often I wash hair in between de/re

Any long-timers with some experience that can help out here? Thanks!

I've used Ghostbond and Walker Ultra Hold before but cleanup often a difficult and time consuming. I switched to Esha Absolute for the hairline and it's way much better. Just one thin layer of Esha adhesive can do a week good solid hold. It's kind of like GhostBond classic but way more easy to cleanup comparing to Ghostbond. I only use using 91% isopropyl alcohol to remove the system and dishwasher detergent to wash the base, shampoo , conditioner.

Did you have a brand new system when it done by pro? A brand new system base come covered in a silicone therefore it might came off from your head clean.

I learned that if you use too much Ghostbond and didn't let it dry completely before the attachment. It will leave more messy on the base and my scalp. I might be wrong because I've switched it to Got2b and other non residue glue that works better for me.

What does clean up look like with esha? How do you go about cleaning it?

Easy on my french lace because most of the glue residue stay on my scalp and they came off in shower. Since there is no glue residue on the lace , I just use dishwasher detergent to wash it.

It's an individual thing, if you have a sweaty scalp, the bond will tend to deteriorate between your scalp and the lace so the glue sticks to the lace. When I was wearing a full-head bond, the unit would come off my head with a gentle tug, and I had almost NO glue on my scalp, but the lace would be full of it.

Now with tape, the same thing... after 7-10 days, it comes right off... no alcohol needed.
