Miniaturised hairs - distinguishing from new hair

Do you think its possible that a new terminal hair is harder to pull out than a miniaturised hair? Ie. two hairs both 2cm long, one terminal but white and thin (as new growth can be apparently), and one miniaturised, is the miniaturised one easier to pull out? Could this be a way of distinguishing whether a new hair is terminal or miniaturised or is this theory b*llocks! I have a bunch of thin white hairs growing in a cluster, they are hard to pull out so i'm hoping they are going to turn into terminal hair.
Replies please!

How easily a hair pulls out mostly depends on how far along it is in the telogen (loss) phase. In the telogen phase the chemical bonds that hold the hair gradually dissolve as the hair moves to the upper follicle of the follicle . Vellous hair appears to fall out more easily because at any one time, at least half of it is in the loss phase.
