Middle Aged Female With Androgenetic Alopecia Hair Growth After 4 And 7 Months On Finasteride

For the ladies and even men who doubt finasteride use works (especially for FPHL). This isn’t my story, but one I found on the female alopecia forum. This woman has only been using vitamin D and finasteride. She is middle-aged and was prescribed 2.5mg finasteride daily. She posted her baseline, 4 month and 6-7 month results. It’s pretty great! Check the photos. She claims that she had some shedding which only lasted a week or two at 1 month. She also said that she had not had a mentrual cycle for 6 YEARS and began again after taking finas. This is interesting to me, because I’ve noticed that avodart/dutas has had effects on my own bleeding (in a good way). I feel like this is all due to estrogen increase. Anyway. I said female Androgenetic Alopecia, because she’s a female and has Androgenetic Alopecia. I didn’t say Female pattern hairloss. She has PCOS, which usually presents as male pattern loss.

Sorry to bump this.

But this is impressive. I have PCOS and currently on minoxidil only. I am in the process of going on anti androgens. But dont know which one would be best. The normal route is spironolactone with bcp.

Georgie do you have a link to her story? and was she JUST on finasteride?
