An Intro...

This thread is a compilation of results photos posted in the large microneedling thread as of Page ~391 (2019-03-04). That thread is so large and has grown so fast that results often get buried quickly and are difficult to keep track of.

One thing to point out is that I've tried to include the source of the postings where possible. Some are external to HairLosstalk forums and so keeping a record of where they came from is important. It can be quite easy for someone's regimen details to be lost - despite having good progress photos.

On the topic of regimens… everyone is generally doing a different combination of things that could influence their results. Everyone was obviously fairly enthused to see the results from @74775446 having used only a Dermaroller and a Dermapen in combination with Minoxidil. Though in the results I've compiled below you'll find people using Finasteride, Dutasteride, Essential Oils, Sandalore, Minoxidil, Needling Only, etc. Or they could be using any of the various micro needling devices like a Derma Roller with 192 pins, or 500+ pins, or a cheap Chinese Derma Pen, or an expensive Derminator pen device or a manual stamp! It can also be difficult to know the true influence needling has had if people started needling at the same time as other topicals or drugs. Unfortunately you need to take their anecdotal opinion to heart - for how much they believe needling helped their situation versus other components of their regimen. There is a fair amount of people in that thread that feel some form of needling has been a real difference maker for them - no matter what other topicals/drugs they are on.

The bottom line is - sadly the Internet community won't provide a rigid control based study with these results… but that is also an okay thing. Someone out there might be on Finasteride and not responding and want to know what other options they have. Perhaps adding Microneedling is of interest to them and therefore they want to see someone using a needling regimen along with Finasteride. Where possible I've tried to include the details of people's regimens or at least tried to include their source posting so you can follow up with them on here or the other large thread.

Note - this is not meant to replace the concerted effort done by @benjt2 in the survey thread here. That thread has a terrific, detailed survey by forum users who volunteered to provide more info on their background, regimens, response to needling so far. Consider this thread a very candid version of that. It is also not meant to replace the FAQ thread done by @Bill_Russo - which is a great resource and answers so many questions and is a place to ask more questions. I suppose if this thread is to serve any purpose it is to be a collecting point for photos as they are posted in the large microneedling thread.

If I have any information inaccurate below, just let me know - I can fix it up. If you want (your) photos removed - no problem… just let me know. Also - if I've missed your photos let me know where they're at and I can include them.

Now… to the photos!

The Studies

Whether you trust the sources of these studies or not they at least provide a scientific approach to microneedling. The Chinese study is interesting since they did a microneedling-only group which they concluded to be slightly more effective than Minoxidil alone!

Chinese Study (2017): https://www.docdroid.net/Q4cnC2V/101080-at-1476417220171376094.pdf
  • Dermapen device using a depth of 1.5mm to 2.5mm
  • Minoxidil applied immediately after wounding
  • Wounding every 2 weeks
Group 1 (Worst) - 5% Minoxodil:
zhXHcZP.png

Group 2 (Better) - Microneedling:
j7SvTUE.png

Group 3 (Best) - Microneedling combined with 5 Minoxoidil:
0ycKEtr.png

Indian Study (2013): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746236/
  • Dermaroller
  • Minoxidil twice a day (though not immediately after wounding)
  • Wounding every week
Microneedling + Minoxidil Group:

Minoxodil Only Group:

Brazilian Study (2016): https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/ff11/7382e71455419f9baeb7fe002a5a1e361e05.pdf - added on 2019-03-26

This study did not have a large sample size (only 2 men in the study), which is odd - although they did some things different than the Chinese & Indian studies. Frequency was less (only once per month) namely.
  • Cheyenne branded tattoo apparatus set at 1.5mm depth
  • Minoxidil applied during wounding ("MMP" Technique) for Patient 1, although no drugs were used by Patient 2 (only miconeedling)
  • Wounding 1 X Monthly for a total of 3 sessions over 3 months

This section is what most people aspire to and want to see to provide some hope when incorporating needling into their hair re-growth regimens. Here you have some long time needlers from outside the HairLosstalk community or some new fast responders from within the large microneedling thread. These are in no particular order. Credit goes to @nohairnolife for identifying most of these through the first 300 pages of the thread!

@74775446 (aka Numberman)

His results were originally posted to Reddit on the /r/tressless community and inspired the large microneedling thread started by @ZenHead.

Regimen details: Minoxidil 5%, Nizoral, Biotin, 2.0mm Weekly needling with Dermapen + Roller occasionally

"May i give some more experience from my history of hairloss. I'm 26 and started to see losing ground in 2014 ...like most uninformed people I went to the drugstore and bought Regaine(minoxidil)...but it only helps to maintain my hair or it didn't ..I don't know I still had good hair and thought minoxidil maybe does more damage than it could help me ...so I dropped it 2 years ago...after that I got very hard shedding and I losing ground until sommer... original hairline is still there but I still had heavy sheed and my headskin was visible from every angle...

So I shaved my head because I thought I can live with it...but I couldn't..and started to search in the internet and landed on the dermaroller thread here..

So the point of the story is, my hair is now good as years ago...and without dermaroller it would not be that successful. Minoxidil alone only helped to maintain for me and didn't not thicken up hair dermaroller + minoxidil ( in my opinion)

Been lurking this thread for some time. Thanks to all who have contributed their experiences good and bad.

Started fighting male pattern baldness in june 2018. Was inspired by threads like these. I had just let myself be defeated once I started going bald at 23, almost 10 years ago.

I'm almost 9 months in, and I have been dermarolling (1.5mm) for about 6 months, although my rolling was fairly light and infrequent. Only drew blood a few times here and there and was only rolling 2-3 times a month. Definitely wasn't wounding like I could have. I was seeing gains with just the big 3 before introducing rolling and was continuing to see gains so I didn't want to press my luck.

Here's my 6/7 month progress photos:

(edit, can't post link bcuz new member or something?)

I'm still seeing new growth at a pretty steady rate, but I gotta say the results people are getting from a more intense microneedle / wounding regimen has inspired me once again. I ordered a Dr Pen from Amazon which will arrive tomorrow.

My new microneedle regimen will be as follows: 1.5/2mm once a week (aiming for moderate wounding, don't want a bloody mess.), with 0.25 or 0.5mm every other day with no deep wounding.

I am convinced that the wounding is necessary for new hair growth, and gives the minoxidil a boost in some way (or vice versa). And I believe the light microneedling may trigger some natural body response to heal / increase blood flow to area and open up holes for better minoxidil absorption. Just my bro-science-esque best guesses though, I don't have any real studies to back any of that up.

This is my first post at HairLossTalk.com, but i plan on continuing to lurk and excited to post some more pics in a few months.

9 Months Results Update

Source::https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-410#post-1781204

In the past month since getting my A6, I've had some of my best gains to date. Maybe the best month. I'm no longer shaving my head down to nothing. I have a NW2/3 pattern that is filling in, and I started from a NW6/7 just over 9 months ago.

Hair length on top is reaching new heights as well. Still pretty diffuse in that pattern, but it's definitely getting thicker.

The crown is doing very well. My hair around it is pretty thick and the crown is not as thick as the rest yet, so you can still see that there is some thinning there. That gap is closing quickly though, especially as I can grow it out a bit longer.

I roll at 1.75mm on fastest speed setting, latest one was with 30 needle Dr Pen A6. I get a little pain but nothing I can't handle. Mostly redness with some blood on the front.

I roll immediately after showering and apply minoxidil immediately after rolling

@MyThinningConfidence

MyThinningConfidence is one of the best examples of what microneedling alone can do. He has a multitude of postings on HairLossTalk and also on Reddit's /r/tressless community if you wish to follow his entire story.

Regimen Details: 1.5mm dermaroller once per week, Nizoral once per week, Zinc pyrithione and scalp massage for 5 minutes once per day, Saw first results within 6 months, also now added 1.25mg finasteride once per day. He has seperated his pre-finasteride results on his Success Stories thread as well.

Source: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...inxodil-results-from-tressless.117746/page-55

"Here are my results derma rolling for anyone curious, I didn't use minoxidil either. I have been on finasteride for 2 months now but that was to just help keep and expand on my gains. I regrow a decent amount before finasteride, most of the regrowth is from scalp massages, 1.5mm rolling and zinc pyrith + nizoral. My hairline still needs a good amount of regrowing but based on vellus hair it should cap out at NW2 in 6-12 months. I'm coming from a NW4.5 and currently I'm about NW4-3.5 although with some restored density. It's surprising how many people dismiss microneedling as bullshit since it just doesn't work for them"

Regimen Details: 1.5mm dermapen once per week, Minoxidil (on non-dermapen days) twice per day, Vitamin E oil, coconut oil, peppermint oil

Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/tressless/comments/acmbd4/3_months_of_dermarolling_and_minoxidil/

"So I'm 36 and have been losing my hair since my 20's. I started on Kirkland Minoxidil 5% and Nizoral shampoo about 5 years ago when I noticed my shiny spot getting bigger in pictures. It seemed to work for keeping what I had but I didn't notice much if any regrowth.

I bought 2 derma rollers at the end of September: a 1mm and a 1.5mm after reading the studies. I used the 1mm for the first month until I got the courage to switch to the 1.5mm (It f*****g hurts!). I roll once a week, usually before bed, and apply a vitamin E oil, a little coconut oil, and lately peppermint oil. I don't use Minoxidil for 12-24 hours afterwards.

Pretty much everyone has commented on the difference and I've been shocked at the results so far. There are baby hairs all over my head that just keep getting darker and darker. I'm hoping to have all my hair back within the next 9 months. Fingers crossed!"

@chen

Chen is a long time needler that came out of the shadows into the large microneedling thread. He has been rolling for a couple years to achieve these results. He is now on finasteride to maintain results, though did achieve the majority of results in these photos from rolling + minoxidil!

Regimen Details: 1mm Dermaroller twice per day, Minoxidil once per day(?), now on Finasteride though saw results prior to its use

Source: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-350#post-1769927

yes 2 every day. I put minoxidil twice a day. before I use dermaroller and i finish i put minoxidil now.
last year if i dont put twice a day no more 10 days.
I start with 1.0 mm. the more cheap dermaroller that you can buy in all place.
Now i go to doctor and the say to use finasterida too. I'm using for 1 year no more.

I started the treatment with minoxidil only for a maximum of 6 months beginning of 2017. After I went into the study of baldness I added dermaroller 1 time per day. After I felt the body adapt I started to do it 2 times a day. my treatment is:
dermaroller for 5 minutes, medium strength and no bleeding.
after, I apply minoxidil.
today includes scalp massages for a few minutes in the morning, afternoon and evening.
use finasteride and dietary supplement.
I'm using google translator

Use finasteride at 1 year on the advice of your doctor.
but my hair grew without finasteride.
use since finasteride decreases the fall.
minoxidil and dermaroller help to grow hair.
finasteride decreases the fall so one complements the other
This treatment takes 10 minutes each session, total 20 minutes a day.
minoxidil should stay in the hair for 24 hours. I always shoot when I take a shower to put it on again

as you know, baldness is permanent.
but this treatment I can take for a lifetime.
I hope in 3 years to recover the entries they are much harder to grow, I think they only grow when the back grows.The front line already appeared at 1 year, but grew almost nothing. But hair has filled up and today I see more new hair growing in the front so I have expected that in 3 years I would be Norwood 0

Here is a collection of results photos posted by HairLossTalk members from the main large thread who have been kind enough to share their progress (or sometimes lack thereof, but still valuable to undertsand how everyone responds, especially early on). Some are making progress albeit not as significant yet as the top responders documented thus far. Hopefully over the course of the year we will see advancements from these members! Thanks to everyone sharing - whether visible progress yet or not.

@Hairo

Regimen Details: 1.75/2mm depth w/ Dermapen ~weekly. Lipogaine brand Minoxidil 1X per day at night, Rosemary Oil 1X per day AM. Minoxidil user for 10+ years

2 Months:

I've been doing this since the start of thread .Bizarrely read another article regarding derma pens and ended up purchasing the same derma pen as the op before I stumbled across this thread right at the start! ( it was a sign :) Anyway! so 2 months in not to much to report on 8/9 sessions at 1.75mm recently gone to 2mm. Using lipogaine min and rosemary oil. One of the reasons I jumped on this is because I had PRP done and my shedding stopped for a solid a week after. I thought maybe it was due the trauma from the injections and after reading up about it came across derma rollers/ derma pens etc. Also been on Min for 10 years! I think my forelock has improved since derma but crown still has a way to go. Lighting is a little dodgey also red as day after dermapen but will keep you updated. Thanks to the OP for all his input and sharing this with us

3 Months: 3 month update just before my 12 session, not much change also took photo before rather than after the session as my red scalp can make any results deceiving as it lessens contrast.

Recap on my regime:

-Weekly 1.75mm dermapen (every 7 days)
-Lipogaine Minoxidil once a day PM
-Weleda Rosemary Hair Oil once a day AM (may add sandalore to it)

My Trinov preorder from way back has just arrived wanted to add that but will hold off for another couple months as really want this to work! Not sure if Trinov has an expiry date though as its all in Italian!
Should add I get flaking in frontal vertex but have yet to get any in crown

I have been dermarolling for about 2 months now following the procedures from Dhurat et al. Here are my pics:

photos.app.goo.gl/ZRfaNaPZmUGS9hAA8

I am not sure how much of my progress is due to normal growth and how much due to dermarolling. I had to shave my hair because of an accident. I hadn't realized how much of my hair had miniaturized until then. My doctor suspects it might be a combination of Androgenic Alopecia and Telogen Effluvium.

The first picture has a lot of toppik in it. But if you zoom in on the later pictures you can see very small but thick hair growing. I don't know whether they will grow to full length as of now.

Gotten massive thickening on some areas. When I look back at a photo I took one month after I started needling, there is an area on the front of my my scalp that was basically super thin. Now I looked at a photo I took today and it's super thick and dark and that's just one area. There is clear progress.

Top left picture (dry hair) from november 11, one month after my first needling session. Top right (oily hair) and bottom picture (dry hair) are from today. Obviously different lighting and hair length on both of these, but still. Look at the top front and top right. What do you think?

I wasn't going to post any updates but I feel I owe it to this thread. Slightly different light but both pics are in light with the flash on, picture quality not great either. 11 weeks in needling 2mm every 7-10 days, pressing firm until slight blood, minoxidil straight after and minoxidil morning and night everyday, sandalor whenever i remember in vanicream and scalp massages whenever I remember

Edit - I used minoxidil on and off for years with no results before needling This is definitely helping me and my hair is getting stronger and thicker everyday

Quick crown update from me
Regime- derma pen every 7-10 days with 2mm, minoxidil twice a day, scalp massages and sandolor sometimes
I believe you need to go hard to get the best results and that is what i'm doing now, I'm drawing blood
I have no question this is working for me now, i can see clear progress, the crown is slower but I can see something
This is 3 month in
The first picture is with an iphone 7 and second with iphone 5 so quality is different, both taken under light with flash on to try keep it the same

Regimen Details: Derminator needling @ 1.5mm weekly. Minoxidil, H&W Topical Finasteride, Stemoxy, Orindary Hair Serum w/ Caffeine, Nizoral 2X week, Miconazole Nitrate other days. Finasteride User for 8+ Years (Switched from Oral to Topical ~18 months ago).

Source: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-100#post-1741420

"My progress so far - i've been using a derminator and a 12 needle cartridge (new cartridge each session) at 1.5mm once a week for ~15mins. I use min, h&w topical finasteride, stemoxy, ordinary hair serum (makes my hair look better and has caffeine in it, why not) 1x day except needling days, ketoconazole ~2 a week, miconazole nitrate the other days. I've been using finasteride and min for 8+yrs (switched from oral to topical finasteride about 18months ago, accompanied by a huge initial shed) so I haven't seen regrowth in a long time.

The hairline pics are the day after my 3rd session (2 nov) vs the day after my 8th session (9 dec), both taken with flash.The crown pics are taken after rolling, numbered by weekly session. 2nd session - 8th session.

My hair is longer in the later crown pics and the first 2 pics are from a different angle with stronger lighting. The lighting from week 4-8 is as consistent as I can get it."

Regimen Details: Dermapen 2.00mm Weekly, Dutasteride (last ~3 months), Finasteride for 1 year before that, Minoxidil with 1ml Sandalore per 60ml bottle 1X a day in PM

Source: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-125#post-1744054

"I started using a dermapen 2.0mm on 25.10.2018, so creeping up on 2 months now. I feel like my hair has gotten a lot thicker (though it's obviously longer as well), and today I could swear I saw some vellus growing in my left temple.

Overall, the last month I have not been that bothered by my hair loss anymore and even if it maintains as it is now I would be pretty happy.

Note that I'm also on dutasteride since a few months, and finasteride for a year before that. Minoxidil with 1ml sandalore per 60ml bottle once a day in the evening.

2.0mm dermapen once a week for about 15 minutes, redness lasts for 2 days with some mild blood spots sometimes. I use local numbing cream to make pressing harder a bit easier. I've been taking monthly pictures since 1.9.2018 so when I get more results I can make an album"

Regimen Details: Finasteride, Minoxidil, Dermaroller & Dermapen 1.5mm weekly- believe most regrowth is due to minoxidil + Needling

"Figured I'd share these pics with you guys. This is from earlier this year end of Janury to end of May on finasteride, minoxidil, and dermarolling. First two pics are from January. First is wet hair second is dry. Up until this point I'd only been using finasteride for about 9 months. Maintained very well but got very little regrowth. End of January(when these pics were taken) is when I added minoxidil. Started dermarolling about a month later, every week 1.5 mm with a Dr. Pen. Didn't apply minoxidil for 24 hours after. The last two pics are end of May. Third pic is wet and last is dry. Def made huge gains primarily from minoxidil and dermarolling"

Regimen Details: 1.5mm Dermaroller weekly, 1.5ml Minoxidil 2X Daily (avoid needling days)

Source: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-292#post-1761555

Long time lurker here (have read every page of this topic) and just wanted to show my results and experience.

Background

I first noticed hairloss (vertex) when i was 18, so i start looking for treatments and at the age of 19/20 i started with oral finasteride. i guess the first two years i got some regrowth/maintance, but eventually it was slowley getting worse. I also had some sexual sides so i decided to stop taking it (2018-09-25). Around the same time i came across this forum and decided to start microneedling + minoxidil + nizoral ( 2018-10-18).

Regime

I started with a 0.5 dermaroller once a week, the first session was with mild pressure, the other sessions where with a lot of pressure (not painful, no blood, full scalp).

Applying minoxidil 1ml twice per day (execpt on needling days).
After 4 sessions i upgraded to a 1.5 dermaroller and also started applying minoxidil (1.5 ml) on needling days. The first session was with mild pressure (not painful, no blood, full scalp). I slowly started to increase the pressure, after the third session my scalp was full of blood spots and little wounds it was very painfull, it nearly took a week to recover, so i decided to skip a week of needling.
In my current regime i am vary the pressure weekly and i am also using the dermaroller as a stamp. i am Considering to switch to a dermastamp, because it takes me like 30 min to do a full session with a roller.
Here are my pictures, i know the lightning is not great, and the angle is not exactly the same, but i think there is a little regrowth. I make a lot of pictures and videos, so i do have a lot more.
(white dots on the right picture are minoxidil flakes)

Regimen Details: 1.5mm microneedling, Minoxidil 2X a week (including the day of needling, 5-6hrs later), Other days apply Essential Oil mixture of Olive/Rosemary/Castor in 5-1-1 proportion

Source 1: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-127#post-1744144

My vellus hair now (on the right) compared to 2 weeks ago:
The number of hairs definitely increased, but still nothing to write home about. It's been 5 weeks so far, so I am obviously not expecting anything dramatic, just documenting progress.

One thing for sure - the vellus hair keeps growing, despite remaining very thin and invisible under normal lighting. The ones that are 2 - 3 mm in the old picture are now over 5mm. I am basically waiting for them to start thickening.

Source 2: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-134#post-1744668

I am excited - my temples have been completely bald for at least 10 years, and I just counted - there are 11 hairs growing on my left temple and 5 or 6 on my right one. They are completely transparent and vary in length from 3 to about 8 mm. And they aren't even close to my hairline, just popping up in random spots. Something is definitely going on, and it has only been 5 weeks. Hopefully they will turn terminal and be joined by new hair overtime. I microneedle with 1.5 mm needles once a week and apply minoxidil twice a week, including the day of microneedling, 5 - 6 hours after. The rest of the days I apply a mixture of olive - rosemary - castor oil in a 5 - 1 - 1 proportion, which is probably not doing much, but I will continue anyway.

Hey everyone,

I'm about six or seven week into microneedling (+minoxidil 2x/day). Like I mentioned before, I used minoxidil and finasteride(1 year) in the past and didn't get any results. I am using the A6 12Needle Pen performing 1.5mm needling once every two weeks. I also incorporated .5mm needling on the sunday and tuesday during the off-week. I am definitely seeing some regrowth. I been tracking my left temple throughout the process

I started with once a week and thought it was too intensive according to the forum.

Source: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...s-from-tressless.117746/page-409#post-1780829

my hairloss has pretty much stopped and my weak spots are thicker and my scalp is healthier, and flexible, i dont feel scalp inflamation and tension/tightness anymore.

My crown is filling in at the slowest rate but all the front of my head and my hairline is most likely going to be completely recovered at some point. no shed, only thicker hairs and extremely small new hairs sroupting and becoming thicker and thicker from the root with time.

I recommend adding minoxidil if the person if too bald or want faster results.

2 Month Progress & Summary:

@MONTH 1
Shed / below baseline;

@MONTH 2
DENSITY = still slightly below baseline;
NO cosmetically relevant results (therefore B/A pics irrelevant);

NEW VELUS @ Temples:

- were slick bald before like lower-right area in pic (I know cause scrutinizing them closely many years now);
- Velus barely visible / NOT cosmetically relevant: dedicated lighting and viewpoint necessary for pic;
- "before" shot not relevant due to above;

Yy4AzpI.jpg

SKIN = Rejuvinated:

- unexpectedly early & obvious needling "side effect" (!);
- Skin Pores = dramatically smaller:
- compare NON-Needled pores on bottom Vs Needled ones near hairline on Pic below;
- Wrinkles = substantially reduced;
- Skin Tone = younger looking / pinkish;
- needling greatly overpowers any MINOXIDIL ageing effects;
- introduced full face needling due to these (unplanned) results;

NEW HAIR

- probably just the shed 1st month hair regrowing;
- all the same length @ approx. 7mm:

visible on photo cause "pointing left", while the older long hair is being held to the Right:

Ma6MRE0.jpg

FLAKING = disappeared after switching from PEN to DERMINATOR (!)
SIDES = noticed only when applying topicals immediately after needling - now waiting at least 4, better 6 hours;

"So today I buzzed my head to a 9mm on top. I had done the same on 04/09/2018 (almost two months into using only 5% min twice daily), and on 08/09/2018 (almost 3 weeks before starting dermarolling with 1mm roller), and then today (almost 3 months of microneedling, 1 month at 1mm using a roller almost everyday, then 2 months using a pen with 2mm every week).I continue to use min throughout, but avoid using within 24 hrs of microneedling. I have added pumpkin seed oil for topical application, and use nizoral 2-3 times a week.I think the lighting is very similar, but I had to crop out the regions from older pics to match the head size for a fair comparison.I feel I still have a lot less density on top(vertex), but has the density increased in other parts of the head? If so, I am assuming it would increase a little more where I could still see my scalp."https://imgur.com/a/HkgDBPw

Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/tressless/comments/avzmc8/23_months_on_minmicroneedling_pic_in_comments/

The photos are roughly three months apart, both taken with wet hair, hair length is approximately the same because I've had a haircut in between the photos. I made them black and white because the different white balances made comparing the photos harder. What do you think? I definitely feel like there's a difference in the middle section of my hairline. Before, I could see the scalp in the front even in normal lighting conditions. Now it's only really noticeable in harsh conditions like a bathroom light. Temples have started sprouting baby hairs, nothing that's cosmetically significant yet though. I don't know if it's the shampoos or biotin (or maybe both) but my hair feels a lot thicker these days

Current regime:
  • Minoxidil 5% liquid spray once a day
  • Daily vitamins E, B, Zink & Biotin (Narovital)
  • Nizoral 2-3 times a week
  • Regenpure for days I don't use Nizoral
  • Microneedling with pen set to 1.7mm on hairline/temples and 2.0mm on crown every 7-10 days
Before I started all of this I contacted my doctor and he had me do a bunch of blood tests. He said everything came back fine but he was hesitant to put me on finasteride due to sides and told me to first try other methods and get back to him if it got worse. It definitely hasn't gotten worse, but I'm still down to try finasteride. But maybe it's dumb to do right now if my current regime is working?"

"Holy sh*t this stuff works.. I didnt really take before pictures but this stuff f*****g works. I might dig up some old pics to post results later but its clear as day that I have regrowth all over my scalp and on my hairline (24yo with receding hairline, some crown loss and some diffuse all over, maybe Norwood 2.5 at start). I have seen the biggest improvements in density all over but my hairline has so many hairs that werent there before, and the baby little vellous hairs that were there are now growing pretty thick and healthy looking. I dont get those dht itches on my temples anymore either and my head just feels healthier, its like night and day. I use a dermapen once a week with 1.6 mm (12 needle) and minoxidil foam once a day every other night of the week. Its only been 6 weeks of dermapen but this stuff has been working wonders. There are a lot of people discouraging it but it has been a godsend for me. If you havent added this to your regimen, do it now

Edit: so just to answer a couple of questions, I use the ultima M7 off of Amazon. I don’t add anything else to my hair on the day of. It does hurt pretty bad and it draws blood. And I’ve been on minoxidil since last July with minimal results. Adding the dermapen is what did it in my experience. I also take biotin supplements"

I have done rogaine once a day every night since then. It helped a little bit I started using a dermapen 6 weeks ago and that’s what has given me real gains I’d say. Have done it every week and rogaine on the nights I don’t dermapen. I take biotin supplements daily as well.

My hair is longer in the second video and I wouldn’t say I’m back to a full head of hair but I have way better density all over and I have more hairs along my hairline than I’ve had in like 2 or 3 years.

Before After Videos: Before / After

Results (6 weeks of Dermapen, Longer with minoxidil - though attributes gains to Needling):
