Hi,

Does anyone think this looks like MH or male pattern baldness? All opinions appreciated.

The first 3 amber-tinted photos are from a few months ago, and the last 2 daytime photos are from about a year ago.

Also: I'm sure the hairs over the vertex are thinner than those over the center, and have been getting so for months. Since both MH and male pattern baldness must develop gradually, how can you tell "raising MH" from "thinning male pattern baldness"?

Thanks.

If you are thinning in the vertex (and by that I take you mean "crown"), then its male pattern baldness, and it will probably further affect your hairline at some point. So, it's really not of any use whatsoever trying to guess whether its male pattern baldness or a MH what's affecting your hairline right now.

Ah, my mistake: I meant "over the temples". Crown's the same as always.

The thin hair starts less than an inch from the forehead muscles, it's just tough to tell where it stops: the top of my head seems to have thicker hair than the back/sides.

Thanks for replying, sorry for the mistake.

Oh I see. In any case, that's a decent head of hair for a 28-year-old to have. Although in all honesty, your temples seem a tad too receded for just a MH, but that's just my impression. What I would do is the following: get a really, really short haircut and then inspect closely what's happening. I did that and I discovered that I was thinning in the front. I just hadn't realized it since my hair was still thick.

Thanks, appreciate the reply. I started using Nizoral, but might need to work up courage for that haircut.

I'm not sure how much I'm willing to put into fighting it, I just wanted an outside opinion.
