Metrosexuals... all of us??

I noticed a definition of the term "metrosexual" in Wikipedia:

"An urban male of any sexual orientation who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle."


So.. are we in fact metrosexuals... considering that we concern ourselves so much with our hair loss??

I don't care what I am... but I hear this term a lot when people describe "pretty boys". However, this term could apply to people like us.

I'm definitely metro, I care about my appearance so what. I'm sorry, but if having a sense of style makes me metro, so be it, I'll wear the title with pride. If you had to guess whether James Bond was metro or not what would you guess... that's what I thought. Titles are titles, labels are labels, we are what we are. Who cares.

I doubt you can label someone who obsesses over his/her hair is metrosexual. I think it's more of a clothing-oriented thing.

Here, here. My father has always said something along very similar lines and I am proud to follow in hos footsteps. I am quite heavily into fashion and the social scene which is my choice, I have been accused both seriously and in humour by people of being gay. But, I know I am 100% comfortable with my heterosexuality that these jibes just make me laugh, the statistics always prove to have these guys are left slobbering drunk propping up the bar while I am getting a taxi home with the fit girl that who they tried to pick-up by pinching her *** earlier in the night.

The guys that take the piss are the guys that normally drink too much, wear sh*t clothes, have sh*t hair and a sh*t attitude towards women. They are the first to call you a f** for looking sharp or wearing clothes that aren't the laddish norm but I bet you they are the ones who will be going home alone or to an empty bed.

I prefer to be relaxed. That´s why I want better hair, just for not having to be styling it lo look good.

I find quite disturbing or something a man who is all compound and groomed, wearing trendy clothes and stuff. People trying too hard are not my like.

I feel terribly confortable wearing my old bob marley t-shirt outside my old wasted jeans with my beard not shaven.

When I wear my Armani, I feel like I´ve been caught into a stupid trap that some italian f***** has designed because of his hate for the human race.

I don´t give a f*** if women find me attractive or not. I´m not going to be a slave of f*****g appearance fascism. Anyway, the guys that dress real nice and elegantly are very few, becouse the trend is a mix of prefabricated "elegance and grunge" that can be okay in the skin of Johnny Deep in the Oscar´s ceremony, but for the regular guy in the street wearing cheap clothes makes him look retarded.

It is not all about wearing designer labels. It is about finding a 'look' that you like and that suits you. I worry about my hair and do f*** about with it a lot but a never go for a clean-shaven look as it doesn't suit my face and I certainly don't go out buying sh*t armani clothing. I get a lot of my clothes from cheap stores, charity-shops, e-bay and army surplus mixed in with some pieces of more expensive clothing and knowing what looks good with what, and wearing it with confidence is what makes the difference.
