Method for Safest, Most Effective Knot-Bleaching.

After reading here that someone destroyed a piece while attempting to brighten up its knots, I took a step back & reevaluated.

I have successfully bleached knots - but have no clue how the piece would have held up had I not done it.

I've also more or less emulated StickOnHair's method, which is just a plain stupid given that the guy, albeit fun & hilarious, is a disaster. I've only been more modest in my timing, as I'm afraid of frying.

What do you guys do for best results & what do you avoid?

StickOnHair is a train wreck, he's not bald at least not to the point of needing a system.
to answer your question, i don't know any alternative to peroxide.
If you have a lace it should be fairly simple, bit for a poly its going to be triky and to be honest i think it will make the hair fall out of the base.
