Merk 1mg Generic Propecia

Has Merk came out with the 1mg of generic Propecia yet? I thought it was supposed to be out sometime this past June? I asked my pharmacist and they said it will be out next year.

I am currently taking Proscar 5mg tablet (cutting it up into 1/5th for daily dosage) and would like to know when the 1mg of Propecia comes available, so I do not have to continue to cut the Proscar tablets.

Also, is 5mg of finasteride and 5mg of Proscar the same thing? I have been alternating between the two since my pharmacy has a difficult time keeping one or the other in stock.

merck produces generic propecia? Why would they do that to compete with their own brand? Can you give more info?

And yes 5 mg finasteride is the same as 5 mg proscar. 5 mg finasteride is just the generic version of the proscar.

there is now FDA approved generic 5mg finasteride out, but for whatever reason... no 1mg generic

Propecia came out after Proscar, so I would think generic Propecia may still be a while away.
