In detail (look at the picture): Someone asked if he could lower the dosage of finasteride because he was able to maintain his hair status for 13+ years and Dr. Finner said that a 0.5g dosage should be enough afterwards.
I don't know if you just slowed down your hair loss or if you stopped it completely so far, but whatever the case is, the longer it goes the better are the odds.

My dermatologist said that if finasteride gets you over 8-10 years, then the likelyhood of maintenance should theoretically go up to at least 15-20 years. It matches with the statements of Dr. Finner on a pretty popular and reliable german website called haarerkrankungen.de, where he says that the hair just gets over the mountain with the age because of the lower testosterone levels.Over 10 years.
