Why for examples in feudal Japan they used to cut thier hair in the middle, and in china,India, etc... It's was a common haircut too. And it was considerd attractive. I also noticed that non western people like in Arabic countries or in Asia, and some places in south america they don't have any stigma about bald people and don't see it as something ugly. It's only in the stupid western media that worshiping Justin bieber and spread stupidity that make us ugly. And this why the people see it like this. All the perfect holywood stars and the money and beauty worshipping from age 0 causing it.

That was their equivelent of the marine buzzcut, it was'nt a fashion statement.

Hair has always been associated with youth and virility, think Sampson and Delila.
