Hey Folks!

Since its just my subjective analysis, i want your feedback in order to know where im heading!!

I need your help about my current hair situation. First of all, some background information: I´ve always had a huge forehead and hated to cut my heart short because of that... on top of that i dont have very thick hair

at the age of 15 my hairline receded and got the caracteristic V-Shape, but with a huge forehead that doesnt do my hairline a favor, However im 18 now (turning soon 19) and i feel that it doesnt have changed a bit since then!!
since the age of 17 i became really obsessed with my hairline (BBS?) because i couldn´t really figure out what was going on.
My father started loosing his hair at the age of 30, but he has a completely different hair structure than mine...i have the same forhead and virtually the same hair as my mother, which leads me to my grand father who startet loosing his hair in his 40s. Both of my uncles arent balding.

Here you go with the pics! Mature Hairline, or early balding?

btw. my hair is pretty short right now, 3 mm left/right/back and maybe 1/2inch on top

kthxbi

might not recede any further but at your age it probably will. i'd say jump on fincar and forget all about it.

Woah hold on there, the OP is 18, that's too young to be dicking around with hormones.

It does look a bit thin but it's hard to tell if it's male pattern baldness if you say it's always been thin. You could take some more photos now, forget about if for 6 months, then take photos again and compare.

If you do decide it's male pattern baldness at your age I'd start with Rogaine/minoxidil, the foam if you can afford it for the least hassle. See if that thickens up you hair, you should see some regrowth along the hairline, even if it was just natural recession.

Certainly see a doctor if you're considering Finasteride, don't just dive in and order it online.

Thanks for the replys guys,

no i dont plan to take any of these medications until im lets say 20..

but I have another big question! everybody here is saying that its not considered as male pattern baldness when you are loosing under 100 hairs per day; yet I´ve never seen fallen hair on my pillow or in the shower or anything like that; when your hairline is receiding can you see the hair that fall off?

btw. I´m sure that my hair isnt "thining" in the proper sense of the word, but im worried about the hairline

yes of course, i compared it to picks of last year, two years ago etc. up to lets say 2007..the "hair structure" is basically the same, pretty thin.
