Mature hairline or male pattern baldness??????

hair was wet and or gelled back.

these were all taken on an ipod touch so sorry if the quality isnt that good.

but anyway im 18 in like 2 months and like 6 mnonths ago after i got a short haircut after having long hair my whole life i realized my hairline looked kinda receded. so far ive only gotten one comment about a receded hairline and that was rite after i completey shaved my head. my family thinks im crazy, not balding, and have ocd cause ive kinda of been obsessing about it. my mom just took me to a derm and he gave me like a 1 min look over and said im def not balding and ive most likey always had a hairline like that just never noticed it cause of the long hair. history: dad is 55 and has all of his hair, his dad was 80 and had all his hair, my moms dad was in 50s and had all his hair but my moms 1 brother is balding while the other is not.

at this point i just need some confirmation on whether i really am balding or not. im also on my second month of acutane but wen i first noticed this 6 months ago i dont think it has gotten worse but remained thee same. so is this mature or male pattern baldness?

also my mom has a similiar hairlien to me and the derm said i prob inherited her hairline just never noticed it before? and wut Norwood would i be?

Its kind of hard to tell, is your hair thinning along the hairline? I cannot tell on the pictures but you do have a widows peak but maybe you have always had that. But if the hair is starting to thin in the hairline and temple region it is probably most likely male pattern baldness

no not really any thinning but i have noticed some smaller hairs and even a couple terminal hair like 1 or 2 centimeters below where my hairline starts. is this a sign of where my hairline was and is now receding?

what kind of doctor should i go to to get this checked out? i dont want to go back to my regular dermatologist cause all he did was a 1 min lookover. is there some kind of test they can give me to see if im balding or not?

yes that most likely means thats where it use to be, anyway thats how it is with me. I went to the Bosley hair restoration clinic, I applied for their package and you are given a free consultation. They looked over my hair took pics, ran a scanner of some sort through my head to look at the follicles. They gave me a perscription for Propecia. All free, but the Propecia is expensive about $75 a month. Im going to go back in a year to look at the progress.

okay i dont think im balding and this is most likely a mature hairline cause its exactly like my moms hairline and i dont think girls even get receding hairlines. i also went to 2 different hair clinics from the yellow pages and they both said my hair line is perfectly fine and kind of laughed at me basically.
