So I got jumped about a week ago and had to get stitched up (4 small stitches in the back of my head, 2 on top). Today was the first day I was allowed to wash my head — and now I'm having MASSIVE shedding. Like, around 100 hairs in the sink right after I dried and brushed, and now 10 to 20 hairs come off every time I brush my hair/run my hand through my hair. I've had a pretty mild case of male pattern baldness since about I was 19 (28 and still around NW2 now) — is this the trauma exacerbating my condition? Or is this just my hair's reaction to the stress of the trauma and getting stitches and my hair hasn't been washed for a week straight (which I've never done before)?

Freaking out to be honest.
