Massive shed after 1 great month of finasteride and minoxidil?

There are some variables, a lot of them. I can't put my finger on what went wrong. I drunk an energy drink 10 days ago that had way too much caffeine(twice as much caff as another brand). I ended up getting nausea and indigestion, anxiety, aggitation, and insomnia. After a few days it lowered down to just indigestion and nausea. I ate a lot of bran flakes to clear my stomach. The problem there is that it had a ton of minerals and vitamins in it. Every 3/4 of a cup of the bran flakes had 100% of the daily value of a lot of stuff. Like zinc(which boosts test), several vitamins, and iron. Too much of that can cause hair loss. I ate almost an entire box in 4 days, trying to get rid of the terrible feeling. On top of that, I washed my hair with nizoral around the same time I ate the flakes, the minoxidil was starting to flake up my hairline. And now I'm still reeling. It's all going backwards. It being a random shed would be a big coincidence. I just don't know what would make me shed like this. All the things I overdosed on(iron, zinc, vitamins) should be out of my system by now, right(4 days without it)? I'm shedding a lot on the right and I'm shedding re-growth and healthy hairs.

Okay stop, you're overthinking this. You're having a shed after a month of treatment with minoxidil and finasteride ? Nearly everyone experiences this.

Hair in telogen phase is pushed out by the new hair in anagen phase, treatments speed up the process, it gets better after roughly three months. Relax.

You may be right. It would be a lot easier to believe if my body didn't go through all of that stuff.

Just like Vlatch stated, current hair loss treatments interrupt the growth cycle of hairs, in particular the ones that are soon going to reach the end of their growth cycle. The hair that was going to fall out over the course of the next few months gets pushed out a bit early so the treatment can grow newer, healthier hair in the affected areas. It's highly common for men just starting treatment to see their hair loss get worse initially before treatment kicks in.

BTW - I've been in minoxidil since December. And on finasteride since the beginning of February.
