Hey guys,

I have a massive shed for some reason. I've been using minoxidil for 5 years + finasteride for 4.5 years. Had a great response.
Probably a month ago I decided to lower finasteride dosage from 0.625 mg to 0.3 mg per day. But after a month I got a massive shed!
The problem is that I've been using finasteride all that time, as well as minoxidil 5%.

What happened then? I believe I shouldn't get any shed while still on finasteride+minoxidil SO FAST! I read it usually happens after 3-12 months of completely no use of finasteride.
I go through shed maybe twice a year but this time it's too massive to understand what is going on.

P.S.: I'm losing both thick and thin hairs, short and long ones too! But mostly long hairs.

Please advise!

The only thing u changed is finasteride dosage. .3 is not as good as
.6... some of us benefit only from .5 and up.

Even if I'd completely stopped to use finasteride I should expect a shed in 3+ months. Probably, in 6-9 months. But I didn't stop to use finasteride, just lowered dosage... so it's so strange I get such a huge shed. When I shake my hairs for about 30-40 seconds I get like 80-100 hairs dropped.

It's tough to say :/
Might be your genes taking over or it might just be a shed.
Switch to dutasteride if u can.
I don't want to use dutasteride. As for genes, I don't believe it can happen in 1 month. I've losing my hairs for 15 years minimum.

I've lost a lot of hair in the past few years, my biggest fear with starting a treatment is losing what I have left.

I understand your pain
