Is there anyway to combat gyno other than stopping finasteride? I'm definatley developing the dreaded gyno but I'm reluctant to stop taking finasteride because its working. Is there a possibility that my gyno will go away even if I continue to take finasteride as I've only been on it for a relatively short time and I've heard some side effects go away.

I can't be sure but I had the same question and the response I got was that the only way to get rid of Gyno is surgery. It makes sense... Once you have tits I don't see how they would just go away...

What if you reduce your finasteride intake, could that help? I'm in the very early stages of gyno but as I said I'm having positive results with finasteride and so I don't want to stop unless theres no possibility of reversing the gyno.

My nipples have doubled in size but were quite small to start off with. I must confess that I would never had noticed had it not been for all the post I've seen on this site with regards to gyno. Is it possible to develop gyno after 2 moths on finasteride

> . . . Is it possible to develop gyno after 2 moths on finasteride

I developed man boobs somewhere around month 5 I believe (no lumps, just fatty breasts).

5 years and 7 million pushups later - and I still got 'em.

Cooincidentally - I did a web search just yestreday on "male breast reduction excercises" -

~ ended up at several gyno sites,

~ 1 site out of the UK hawking some kind of rub on testosterone cream,

~ and the rest of the sites were surgical sites and liposuction-related.

So it really looks like, if you're older, and your breasts grow due to finasteride - then it's surgery baby. (I say "older" because sometimes pre-pubescent and young male teens grow breasts but they clear up on their own - that's what I've read anyway).

I'm seeing my doctor today on a non-hair related matter - but they always ask if you're taking any new and/or different meds. I'm certain he's gonna freak when he hears I'm self-medicating on finasteride and tamoxifen.

heh hair_tomorrow,

How long have you been taking Nolvadex(tamoxifen)for? Has it helped at all with getting rid of fat?

And how bad is your gyno? Is it very noticable?

I have naturally large pecks(This is what i like to call them) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell if I'm getting Gyno until its too late!

How much finasteride are you taking? Seems that most people that develop gyno have taken 1mg+ every day for several months. I just started finasteride 7 days ago, only 0.5mg every other day, though.

I'm going to track my chest as closely as my hair. Tonite I'm going to take pictures with a dime next to my nipples so I have a scale. I workout often and run about 20 miles/week, but have been slacking off last few months. My chest is pretty muscular naturally so if I start to notice any fat in my chest with my added workouts then I will discontinue propecia.
