male pattern baldness Outpacing Minoxidil Or Just A Rough Second Shed?

Hello, I'll try keep this short.

Started using minoxidil 5 months ago (photo 1 from just before starting)
within a few weeks I could already see the hair growth, it was very quick and I was responding well.
After around 3 months summer came and I became more inconsistent using less than 1ml per day because I thought I didn't need as much as I was using. (photo 2 from the peak of minoxidil growth before inconsistency) then I started shedding most of the new hair and a bit of hair that was already there after 3.5 months of treatment.
for 1.5 months ive been shedding, I have started using the correct amount again consistently and I can see the new hairs coming in but now my hair is the thinnest it has ever been and the shedding hasnt stopped. (all other photos from now)

Why has this happened? Is it just a long second minoxidil shed, a combo of 2nd minoxidil shed with inconsistent use making it worse or is it just me being in denial about my male pattern baldness getting worse. Although keep in mind I'm only 18 and the whole thing only started like 7 months ago at which point I had a full hairline.

Note: I have no crown loss and have not had any throughout this process, also most of the loss has been on the left side

I know this was a long post but any help would be really appreciated

Why did you start minoxidil if you already had a full head of hair? Your shed is likely due to you being inconsistent with use.. Stay consistent and in a couple of months things should get better. Even with your hair in what you described ( thinnest ever ) it still looks amazing.

People on this forum told me that I definitely had male pattern baldness and that I should go on treatment.. I got very paranoid and thought if I know I have it then I have to be proactive and start minoxidil but with hindsight, I should have waited.

After I finish my 3 month supply of minoxidil, do you think I should stop treating it and wait until things get to the point where I am sure I'm going bald before properly treating it?

That would be a good idea.. Just remember you will likely shed again when you stop which will make your hair even worse but eventually it will grow back.

if you get on minoxidil you have to get on finasteride aswell.. trust me. IF I went on both treatments simultaneously I could probably be less than a nw1 now
