I am a 29 year old male. For the last 3-4 years my hair on the sides and front have started to grow in white. On top of that my hair has noticeably gotten thinner around the crown area. My hairline is not receding in the front. My scalp on certain days can be itchy and is always flaky. On occasion it can get really bad and cause my scalp to become red and the flakes can become yellow (from scratching and oils I assume). I constantly see tiny white flakes come out even by simply running my hand over my head. My hair also always feel dry. I've tried multiple shampoos (Head & shoulders, T-Gel, Nizoral to name a few) with no positive results I don't have the best eating habits but am not over or under weight. A doctor and dermatologist look and simply say it is male pattern baldness. Is it possible that there could be something else causing my scalp and hair conditions? Poor diet/lack of nutrients, stress, etc? The doctors don't seem to want to investigate any other possible causes. I have no family history of male pattern baldness. All the men on my mom's and dad's side have full heads of hair. Are there other questions I should ask? Is there any other information I should provide here?
