male pattern baldness/hair miniaturization or maturing hairline?

Bit of backstory. I'm 25 and have never really looked at my hair but recently I've been concerned and not entirely sure if it's male pattern baldness or what. Pretty much everybody in my family has the hair. My dad is pretty thin on top but he has thyroid issues so that could be a major factor. He also had fine hair until about 45 (52 now) then it started to thin. My uncle(his brother who I look a lot more like) has a full head of hair. My grandfather on my moms side and uncle on moms side both have fine hair. I know all of this doesn't mean I won't go bald. With that aside, I've got some pics here.

This one is in more casual lighting and doesn't look as noticeable as the ones below: http://i.imgur.com/EV9sdKu.jpg

Really man?

I recommend getting on finasteride. It's not yet time to sell your soul to minoxidil though.

He should get on finasteride ONLY if he is actually balding. From the picture, it is not at all obvious that he is balding so advising him to jump on finasteride, a drug with potentially serious side effects is not appropriate. If the OP is concerned, he should see a hair transplant doctor to get his hair mapped out for miniaturization. If there is significant miniaturization, then it will make sense to hop on finasteride. If not, he should avoid id. I wish someone would have given me this advise before I foolishly took finasteride when I didn't need it.

How can you look at this guy's pictures and say he is not in the early stages of hair loss?

I wish someone told me to hop on finasteride as soon as I started losing instead of fear mongering me into believing in these wild side effects.

its mostly retards telling them theres nothing to worry about, they get jealous because they waited so long before hoping on finasteride and want others to get fuked too now.

Anyways, Nmostad, your hair line is receding and thinning. Get on finasteride ASAP and come thank me in 2 years.

You come across as an individual who lacks critical thinking skills. What evidence do you have that I am jealous of this guy? Is "Jealousy" the only explanation you could come up with as to why I am advising this guy to see a doctor before hopping on finasteride? Very foolish of you. And if you are ignorant enough to believe that finasteride can't cause side effects, you are delusional. Do you know finasteride can even cause hair loss, the very thing it is supposed to prevent. Look up "reflex hyoperandrogenicity" if you don't. Moron.
