male pattern baldness Concern. Should I take action? If so, what kind of preventions should I be doing?

Hello all,

I have posted a few times over the past couple years regarding the status of my hair.

Have had a few changes in the feel of my hair and the look ever so slightly.

I am PRETTY sure i am losing hair to an extent.

A bit of background history,

Im 23 years old and my maternal uncle has male pattern baldness aswell as my maternal grandfather who lost some hair but not all of it.

My father has no hairloss whatsoever and I feel I may be leaning towards my mothers side in terms of hair. I am here to gain some opinions on whether you think I have male pattern baldness and if I do, what kind of preventions or methods I should be following. If no one can really confirm then of course it may be best I visit a deem but I thought I’d start here again and see what you think....

have only just recently had a haircut due to lockdown reasons and these things have came more apparent.

Let us know what you think. Some photos are with wet hair and some are with not.

My density is okay up the top still but sides seem thinner. Let us know what you think and if I can do anything to avoid hairloss. Thank you!

Dude, your hair is perfect, get a life and you will not worry . That is not even a norwood . There is something wrong with you if you want to have a 10 years old hair in a 23 years old. You are an insecurity person, you need to fix that.

Hey man, thank you for your reply. Is it common for hair to change regardless of male pattern baldness? Main concern is the sides. May just all
be in my head so that’s why I thought I’d check to obtain some opinions on here.

Yes. Male hairlines, especially in caucasians, are prone to a form of slight recession commonly called a “mature hairline” but it is not considered male pattern balding because it is generally stable.

You are 23 so you are past the point where aggressive balding usually reveals itself. Based on your pictures I don’t see you needing to worry about your hair for at least a decade or two.

You don't need to have a concern about your hair. I'm 23 as well and I'm almost norwood 3

Thank you for your replies. As for a mature hairline, the reason I mention my temples is because of the differentiation of the right and left. I have attached photos of my left temple and my right temple and both look different. Could the left be maturing? Hairs potentially miniaturising? First image is my right temple and the rest is the left temple.
