There's a difference between m.p.b and Alopecia!
Children and Women can get Alopecia and lose all their hair (even eyelid and eyebrow hair).
This is not m.p.b like we are experiencing so you cant class it as any Norwood.

I know. I never said he had no hair, I said he was a nw5....

that thing called alopecia universali.Ya there is difference between alopecia universali and male pattern baldness .But not with male pattern baldness and alopecia because male pattern baldness is also known as androgenetic alopecia. So,alopecia can be classified as male pattern baldness.

Yes alopecia universali is what I was talking about its not on the Norwood scale.

guys i don't see why you think nw5 at 16 is so hard to believe. there's a kid i see around campus who is 18 or 19 and a full blown nw6-7.

i'm 22 so even if avodart only holds my hair the way it is for 10 years, that's 10 years to get married. i can do that haha.

Reason being is becasue (if you're balding) for every year you're younger than, say, 18 it gets MUCH MUCH RARER. a Norwood 5 at 16 has to be like 1 in 10+ million.

so theres like 2 nw5 16 year olds in the US? I'm just ballparking but I'd put the number in more like 1 in 400 for that degree of baldness at that age.
