Well folks. After about 10 months of no results on finasteride, I'm making the jump to Dutasteride. Just ordered me up a 3 month supply of .5mg Avodart. I'll let you all know how it is after I start getting some god damned results!

You beat me to it man. I just have not been able to break down and order it yet. I need to give my finasteride at least a full year.

Is this directed at me or Sting? If it's me I have been on 1mg of finasteride for 10 months.

nice... where did you get it from? I'm going to to try it out at month 12-16 if things continue the way they are.

what's your plan for conversion? cold turkey?

Ive been on finasteride for 7 months now, thinking of giving it up as it hasent shown any effect whatsoever. Continuing to lose hair very fast, had some shedding due to the minoxidil but other than that my body has not even noticed the finasteride, no effect what so ever..

I would encourage everyone to try Propecia/Finasteride for a least 1 year before deciding to try dutasteride. 7 months isn't enough time to tell whether or not your reacting to it. Look at the data and realize that at the 1 year mark is when people tend to see results.

This is coming from a guy who's on month 7 and has lost a LOT of hair since I started. I realize i'm not "good responder" to finasteride. Things didn't slow down for me like some people at 6 months. That doesn't mean i'm a non-responder. It's still too early to tell.

However I'll probably re-evaluate at month 12+ and if things are the way they are now (shedding, hairquality), then dutasteride it is for me.

PS. Anyone heard from funkster lately?

I've been on finasteride for 10 months solid with ABSOLUTELY no change in my condition. Hair has continued to thin at an alarmingly fast rate. Even on 2 months at 2.5mg nothing has changed for the better. I figured I'd wait another 2 months before making the jump... but the sooner I start on it, the sooner I can find out if it will work for me or not.

I got it through http://www.medicalwellnesscenter.com with a prescription and everything. Cost me almost 300 bucks initially. Their prescription costs are kinda steep, but the Avodart is pretty much around market value. I hope this sh*t works, because I'm running out of non-surgical options rather quickly. And time too.

7 months? surely thats not long enough. ive heard stories on various boards of people shedding from say month 3 to 7 and then after 7 hair coming back thicker. surely it takes a long time for hair to cycle through y not wait till month 10 or so.

also, have ur sheds been constant and throughout, or occurred at different times?

The question was for Sting but I appreciate all the responses.

I havent been taking my finasteride everday lately. I have been dosing every 2nd day, instead. The costof the drug and the fact that Im over the intial shock of balding are some reasons that I havent been into "taking my meds".

OUCH 300 bones? That is pretty damn steep. You should of just found one of the many reliable sites out there and got it without a prescription for a lot cheaper.
