Hi guys,

I am about to be 25 yrs old, East Asian, and I have been losing hair noticeable slowly since 2 yrs ago. Started thinning 1 year ago. Uncle and cousin are bald (mom side)

I signed up for a free consultation next week

What questions should I ask? I will go from there, dermatologist visit should be in the future.

Thanks,

1. Do I have Androgenetic Alopecia?
2. What is my anagen / telogen ratio?
3. If I have Androgenetic Alopecia, am I good candidate for finasteride and minoxidil?
4. Do I have excessive sebum?
5. Do I have dandruff?

BTW: do not buy from them any oil snake please

it realy isn't difficult to know your pattern if you are passed the beginning stages.

Your entire scalp slowly erodes to the final pattern.

under the right lighting, and wetness I can tell I am destined to be a NW5-6 despite having a restored full head, and on medication.

Shook ,

What's your plan regarding balding in that pattern however having two procedures done already?

Are you hoping/planning on maintaining your hair with finasteride for a long time or planning on more procedures later in life ?

I am also destined for high Norwood however am in consultation with rahal to restore a hairline and work on maintenance.

The key, and most important part is maintaining your existing native hair, second is to work with your transplant surgeon into restoring your balding areas. Third, and most important is to develop a long term plan with your surgeon for future procedures. it's inevitable that you will further thin, but with the right approach we can mitigate how fast we reach that outcome

Plan, and map out your future loss. Prepare for additional transplants.

I plan on having additional transplants in the future to give me maximum density.

It looks like you have patterned diffuse thinning rather than traditional male pattern baldness.

Op here.
-Went in filled out 2 pages of info about me. ( when did it start, relatives bald, Diet, etc..) felt like he used those as talking points.

- he used a machine to enlarge the scalp onto the screen. It was cool to see how thick some hairs are thick and some are thin. Saw the greasy scalp too. I noticed that more than 1 hair comes out from the follicle. Most cases on the top of my hair, it's showing 1 thin and 1 thick hair from the same follicle.

- of course he wanted 1,550 dollars for 3 months. Which include his laser machine twice a week, his minoxidil, his saw palmetto, and his shampoo. I forgot to ask whether it will cure it.

- he said my scalp is too greasy and it's blocking hair growth. It's true because my face gets greasy too. So I will be washing my hair twice a day now.

He said some minoxidil contains alcohol and will dry out my scalp. He wants me to buy his minoxidil and of course his $1,550 package for 3 months.

Finally he doesn't recommend 2% nizoral shampoo because my hair loss is not too bad right now. He said just use 1% nizoral every other day

What do you guys think? I have uploaded pics above

I went to a hair laser place when I first got concerned regarding my balding. They did the scalp camera thing and offered me some odd months of laser treatment and shampoo bullshit for 2 grand or something. Even gave me a free laser session. Promised me my crown would thicken up and overall hair would improve.

Told her I'd think about it. Did more research. When she called back I said I decided against it and will be taking finasteride. She tried to talk me out of it but it didn't work.
DONT DO IT.

There's a reason the only FDA approved things for balding are finasteride and minoxidil man.

My personal opinion is that Nizoral is over rated, I use T-Gel for greasy hair which is cheaper and is piroctone olamine based rather than ketoconazole. It is much milder on your scalp than Nizoral and you can use it every day without any issue (which I do).

Don't bother with what he is selling, it is all over priced and remember trichologists are n't doctors and have very little training.

DUDE Run go to a regular dermatologist

Dont bother to do laser. 3 months of minoxidil is cheap from stores...Even if laser worked yu can get laser for third of what he is charging and minoxidil is not expensive.

you need propecia/finasteride i think.

Waste of money.

Buy kirkland minioxidil through ebay. Can get yourself a 12 month supply for under 60.00

Saw palmetto is bullshit, has no effect on inhibiting DHT at the scalp.

Laser therapy is additional bullshit. it isn't going to make any significant difference.

the only drug that will make a huge difference in your hair journey is finasteride.

This, exactley. It looks like I still have hair but under the right lightning I can see my scalp eroding to at least NW5 pattern. I tried explaining to family members, they don't understand me.

I thought diffuse thinning is just a variation of male pattern baldness?

See pics. It looks worse under the lights. I am going to shower and the. put some Kirkland minoxidil for bed.

It is, but DPA and DUPA only affects < 5% of men versus traditional male pattern baldness.

Costco online has 6 month for 16.99 add shipping and tax. I got it for $22 delivered to my door.

It's even cheaper than Walmart minoxidil. Maybe you don't live in US?

Canada.

Wow. Even cheaper then i initially thought.

Any doctor that recommends 'laser therapy' is a f*****. /end of story.

it's bullshit and doesn't work. my as well paint some LEDS, and make your own therapeutic helmet. Sit under it while you watch TV at home.
