Low DHT

Hey guys, I just tested my DHT. It was 17ng/dL (reference range was 16-79ng/dL). This very much concerns me because that's pretty low DHT and I don't think my body could handle finasteride. Also, how am I losing hair at such low levels of DHT? I know genetic sensitivity plays a role but damn I thought my DHT would be higher since I'm 19 and a Norwood 2.5/3

As you said genetic sensitivity.
I would at-least give it a go, using finasteride for only a week won't cause any long-term damage.

Shouldn't minoxidil alone work? Since my DHT is low it is obviously is my sensitivity to DHT. Rogaine could bring the hair back to life for longer time, correct? Since rogaine would provide more nutrients to the follicle with little DHT attacking it?

It appears that there is no long-term understanding of rogaine, so you're unlikely to find answers to that here.

I don't know that they have necessarily linked baseline levels of DHT and Anti-Androgen side effects. I have heard various theories about body hair and people who get sides from Anti-Androgens. I feel like until more research is done there's not much that can be concluded in terms of "at risk for side-effects". This doesn't mean I think you should go on Finasteride. I just haven't even seen any reliable evidence to link baseline DHT levels and Anti-Androgens. I'm going to add in S5 cream soon since I've found a few different studies that say it can't go systematic. (If you message me I can send you them or just look through my profile for my thread about Minoxidil,S5 cream, hairstyles).

Sometimes I just bathe in Minoxidil for hours to get Rock hard erections, NW0 hair and lower my blood pressure.

Yeah sensitivity has always been the key that no one understands that well. Also keeping in mind DHT isnt really the actual cause of male pattern baldness its still unknown what factors go into it we just treat it currently as an androgen problem for lack of better understanding. What were your free T/total T levels? There is debate about whether its just DHT or not, but I wouldnt rule out T also being at play in some people.

My total t was 393 which is normal. I am always tired and I am in a brain fog.... May be the low DHT? I have no idea. Going to dr Friday

probably just in your head. That's what happens when you sit at home on the computer all day, and beat your meat. Develop brain fog from a lack of blood and oxygen.

Go workout, talk to people, and then tell me you have 'brain fog'

You're just a dick tbh. You offer no help. I work out all the time, I live with 3 roommates and just had sex a week ago. I am not imagining these things. Some thing is wrong with my body.... And all I know is my DHT was 17 ng/DL or 170pg/mL which is normal but low

tbh if you have such low levels of DHT inhibiting an extra 70% of that through finasteride likely won't effect you in the slightest, if it does it will probably be psychological because you post so many pussy threads like this saying how scared you are and thinking minoxidil will save you.

You are wrong. You don't speak any truth. You just bash me. I have had multiple doctors tell me minoxidil can work for a long time, that's because they go by clinal data and not just the data you cite in studies. They go by what they see in their patients which is a hell of a lot more people then these clinical trials.

Believe it or not, some hair is just predisposed genetically. My mother in law has really thick hair (in her seventies). Her older sister, who is only a few years older, is a Norwood four on the womans scale. She always had thin hair. Her sister is very healthy, active, social, etc.

Same parents. However, her sister has her entire scalp showing. And I feel bad for her to. She's a good person. It's just she didn't get good hair genes!

Her sister is married as is my mother in law.

Something to note as well. Her sister is very effeminate looking. And her sister is very intelligent and physically active. In other words, her hair loss isn't effecting her life.

Do u think I should be on finasteride?
