I have been on Finasteride for 3 years and it has maintained my hairline. I now am afraid that either it no longer works, or something else is causing the shedding and slight recession.
I do admit that this started around the same time I started a new Coconut Oil shampoo, but the shedding seems too intense to be due to shampoo. I notice it being the worst right after I shower. I lose tons of hairs in the shower and outside. WAY more so than before, so I know it isn't anxiety. I also see that my scalp is red with bumps on it and it itches throughout the day.
My question is: Is this more likely to be the beginnings of male pattern baldness creeping back in because of finasteride losing effectiveness, or is it likely something associated with the itching on my scalp?
