Never noticed losing any hair till about a year ago. My hair cutter noticed my hair getting thinner on the sides. Its also turning almost white. What is the cause of this? Is it just male pattern baldness? I have a full thick head of hair besides that.

It seems to just happened all of a sudden, I always had full thick hair.

I just purchased some nizoral shampoo to see if that helps and rogaine foam.
Advice would be appreciated.

the lightning of the hair is the minaturization process happening
which is male pattern baldness

you may just be acquiring a mature hair line
its hard to tell from your pic

if it is male pattern baldness i would recommend finasteride, but at your age it might be risky

cheers matey

Yes it may, but not in a long term. You'll have to use a dht-blocker like propecia for long term results =/.

comeon man, who can a 18 year old have a maturing hairline like that. You can't tell anyone that it may be a maturing hairline, when male pattern baldness is so obvious. Don't set the hopes for others too high ;)

Maturing hairlines are mostly bullsh*t. It usually is just the onset of Androgentic Alopecia a slow rate. You get people who just love to tell sufferers that it is a maturing hair line because it makes them feel better. Bull....

Where you from "losinghair09"?

my grandfather had what we call a "mature hairline" when he died in his 80s, thick hair all around. balding is very rarely a linear process.

that picture, however, does not look like a mature hairline. if you could provide some better ones we could tell you for sure, but to me, I'm going to have to say male pattern baldness.
