I'm a diffuse thinner who has really lost ground in the past year. Been on propecia for 7 years now 1mg per day, use nizoral semi-regularly (not that it does much). Was going good until about 6 months or so ago when I really started to thin out.
My recent blood tests show serum DHT to be low obviously due to propecia. But I've been told some guys get better results moving up to avodart (dutasteride) after propecia isn't doing enough. Considered adding minoxidil but from all my research there is nothing special about it, it's hit or miss and might give you a worse hairline more quickly (in some people).
I really think adding duteristride/avodart or transitioning to it is my best option. Unfortunately I can't find a dr around me willing to prescribe. What types of DRs typcially offer this? I went to a hair transplant surgeon and all I got was "you are doing all you can do with propecia, sorry come back when you're bald and need a hair transplant"
