is this something most of those taking these meds experience? is it common or rare? if it's quite common, i definately won't start up on it for another couple of years.

The earlier you start finasteride the better. Plain and simple. Don't puzzle your mind with these troubling questions: will this happen, will that happen?
If you plan on using finasteride eventually then for god sakes get on it now. It's easy to dissmiss hairloss until it gets really bad but then at that point you're in quite the pickle!!!!

ps: been on finasteride for 3 months, no sides, more hair, less worries.

grimes, you'll read these forums for about a month or two (which is very good, keep doing that and learn as much as u can!!!) but let me give u a quick preview of what you'll be thinking at the end of that period... you'll go on finasteride and nizoral shampoo and if u really want regrowth, you'll go on minoxidil.

let's say that one does experience a massive loss of hair after 3 months, does that hair come back if you stop taking propecia/proscar or is it gone forever?

u do get the one or two cases where it doesn't come back, but for most people it's just weaker hair giving way to healthier hair coming through.
