Hi all,
I'm about Norwood III Vertex (crown thin in the size of a CD in on the top and receding hairline about a finger-length above where I want it to be).
So I imagine to get at least the hairline fixed, it'd be about 1000-2000 grafts? I imagine the crown would take a lot more (maybe 3000?).
So my idea was possibly to get the front fixed here in LA (where I assume you'll find better doctors) and the crown done in Tijuana, Mexico (where it's supposedly 70% cheaper?).... I'm hoping not to get too close to $10,000 but perhaps in Mexico, both could be done for $5000? Would it be a big step-down in quality?
I'm guessing to do it all in Los Angeles would cost $13,000-15,000?
To split it (front in La, crown in Mexico) may cost around $10,000?
To do it all in Mexico may be around $5000-6000?
Does anyone have recommendations of how to play this? I've never had a transplant before so would appreciate any help. Is Tijuana safe enough to walk across the border into alone, stay at a hotel, and get the procedure done?
Background:
I was taking Finesteride 1.5mg daily but quit 1 year ago due to the side effects. As of now I simply take Rogaine, wear the Igrow every other night, and take Biotin supplements. The thinning has slowed but the frontal recession got really bad for a month or two after quitting Finesteride to a point that I would like to fix (see below).
