Loprox Shampoo

I saw my Derm today and he gave me a shampoo he said was better than 2% Nizoral. It is called Loprox from Canada anyone heard of this shampoo? I asked him if it could be mixed with T/sal and he said no problem. He added that it has only been out on the market for 6 months.

He said it was brand new and the active ingredient is 1% ciclopirox. Don't know about the price because he gave me a sample and a script for that and for 2% nizoral. I am going to mix it with T/Sal just as I did with nizoral.

Im in canada, never heard of it. Is it OTC here or by perscription? I never asked my Doctor about shampoos, would be interisted to try vs, nizoral.

Its only been out 6 months the mother company is patheon Inc. Ontario, yes you do need a perscription for this. My dermatologis who has written many books and is very prominent in the field said this is a really good product. He also told me Propecia was good stuff and worked really well in his patients. Incidentally he is bald and said if these products were around when he was loosing it he would have definatley gone on them, without hesitation.

What studies have been done on Nizoral? Besides that one done by the company that makes Nizoral,and besides that, one that was actually done on men with male pattern baldness, not just dandruff?

im from mexico sorry by mi english, here exist loprox by aventis lab.
it uses for herpes and antimicotic its no same like nizoral.
nizoral is for dermatitis.

That is the wrong product you are talking about. This Loprox is a shampoo made by an Arizona company called MEDICIS.

I am not going to keep saying this, this is the last time- THE STUFF HAS ONLY BEEN ON THE MARKET FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS.

Gentlemen please........Listen to me. I just got the stuff yesterday, it is a shampoo like 2% Nizoral but it is newer and supposedly better as my derm told me yesterday. It has only been on the market for about six months.

Allow me to settle this. I used to work in the same office building as medicis. They are one of Arizona's fastest growing companies, and very well respected in the dermatology community. Plenty of beautiful women, driving nice cars at work, as well Anyway, goto medicis.com, they have loprox on their product list, but no link.. I suppose that's because it's so new
