Ok I really need help with this one. I have had some success with the big three after 4 months, but I am looking to switch off Propecia after having to spend $82 on one stupid bottle at Walgreens!! I am only 21 and I really can't afford to spend $82 a month on Propecia anymore. Idealy, I want to take Proscar, which is also made by Merck and is (from what I understand) 5 ml of the exact same thing as Propecia. Unfortunately, I went to the doctor at my college and he refuse to prescribe me Proscar. I am also concerned because I am currently taking .75 mg of Propecia (cutting the pill into 3/4ths) because when I went on 1 mg I had constipation problems. But I'm at the point of not caring after paying $82 for this stupid rip-off crap.

My question is to everyone here is where the heck do you get your finasteride from (like what site)? Is there anywhere I can get an online prescription so I can get Proscar from an actual pharmacy? Also, what are some methods I would be able to use to get Proscar into .75 mg (god willing, I actually get it)? I really don't want to start losing my hair because I bought some bogus crap online, so I really need help, advice, and guidance here. Thanks guys.

Buy one of the over seas generics like Fincar, Finpecia, etc. They come in 5mg tablets as well that you'll have to divide. I spend $78 for the year.

hummmm well any good dermatologist knows that proscar and propecia are the same drug just that they are marketed differently and one still has a patient

i would go to a local derm and say i am currently taking propecia etc and would like to save money by splitting up proscar or generic proscar

i would try to get the largest amount of possible refill and largest prescription amount

i told my derm that i was going to order them from a Canadian pharmacy and needed the pill count to be 100 (since that is the amount they are actually being sold in)

he agreed that $115 for 100 pills of 5mg finis a good deal and wrote the prescription

im sure you will be able to do something similar

cheers

I buy from inhousepharmacy.com. They do not require a perscription.

Yes, they are legitimate. Someone will undoubtably follow this post with a claim that they could be fake. And they could be. Mine aren't (have hair now where there wasn't before), and I haven't heard of anyone buying from inhousepharmacy who recieved fakes.

Try seeing another doctor to get Proscar because I'm splitting Proscar into 8th's.

Yes, it is a huge pain in the *** to do it, but if you sit down for 15 mins, you can cut out almost 3 months worth.

I get about 25 pills of Proscar for $55, I split those up into 1/8 which works out to be about .625mg (its always off, but its close, and it DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EXACT.)

25 x 8 = 200 days

$55 / 200 days = around a quarter ($0.25) a day.

0.25 x 365 = (rounded up) $100 a year. PEANUTS.

Your milage will vary, as Proscar prices are cheaper in Canada.

i was told its not wise to cut alot of proscars at a time

supposedly the finasteride could degenerate though oxidation but i could be wrong

i just cut 2 pills at a time like 8 days worth once a week

but its your call

What brand of finasteride are you taking?

I went through the same problem...I was on propecia for 4 months but had to stop because it was SO expensive(I was also a university student). Then I felt like my hair was rapidly getting worse and found this site. I ordered the generic fincar and am breaking it into fourths. A one year supple was only $78. It's only been about a month so I can't tell you if I will see great results but I read at least 200 posts abou this before I decided which generic to get and from which site. I think fincar is the best choice. Good luck!
