Hello everyone,

I've started Propecia treatment about a month ago, along with nizoral. I am considering adding Rogaine foam. However, I had one concern that crossed my mind: what if the Propecia does not work for me, but Rogaine does? I will not be able to tell the difference and will be stuck taking Propecia forever without needing it. The same might happen in reverse; the Rogaine might be useless, but I won't know that.

Are my concerns legitimate? What do you suggest I do? Should I just jump in to avoid losing more hair, or do I wait out to give Propecia a chance first?

Thanks for your help.

personally i was on nizoral for a while then i jumped onto finasteride and rogaine foam together right around the same time. this all depends on what you want. finasteride will help stop the hairloss and rogaine will help regrow. its said together it will produce more noticable results.

so i suppose if your hairloss isnt that bad and you only want to maintain, propecia alone would be fine. if you need to regrow some lost hair then also get on the rogaine. its all a personal choice if you wanna see if one thing works before getting on another. good luck.

Tonemaster, thanks for your response. I definitely have some hair loss and, on top of that, some miniscule hairs I’d like to see regrow. I guess rogaine is a good idea for me then.

Does everyone concur?

IMO just add it now...there's too much potentially useful treatment options out there anyway...just use what is most likely to be effective and then assess several months later...worry about what is working or not later.

So yeah, I decided to start Proscar two months ago and see the effects before starting Rogaine. I'm starting to see fuzz now, and I am waiting to see if it thickens.
