I have read mixed opinions on Finasteride and whether chance of success is better or worst for diffuse Hairloss? Whether it is more effective for older men versus younger men. Diffuse tends to be a subtext for most threads where recession is he main concern.

Is a lack of success on minoxidil and RU a likely indicator Propecia will fail? I would only consider topical as it scares the hell out of me. Only two years and on the borderline of showing real and obvious balding.

I think Propecia is not as scary as people online make it to be but it is also not a baby aspirin a day and the biggest problem I have is you are supposed to take it for life. I am more inclined to take something that may have potential side effects for 6 months to a year and be able to stop taking it after.

I have Propecia right now in case I need to take it and would most likely start at .25mg a day and go up to .50mg if needed. Also got Raloxifene because I am gyno sensitive in case I have a flare I can take this and block the estrogen receptor. For now I am sticking to what I am doing now as it is giving me results without finasteride. For me it isn't the sexual impact it is more the long term consequence of less neuropeptides however...if .25mg is helpful then a good amount of the enzyme is left where these peptides are not hugely affected.

A lot of people don't seem to have success with RU. Less than 50% of people respond to minoxidil also. I don't think its fair to judge propecia based on your experiences using a scraped RESEARCH chemical and something which few people benefit from. You could try using topical finasteride if you are scared of taking it orally. Retinoid is right though, Propecia is not the big bad wolf its made out to be. Its a fairly safe drug.
