Looking for some advice

Hi.
I am 20 years old, though my hairline does not appear to actually be receding (well it might be but not at any great rate), I naturally have quite a high hairline, especially around the temples. This sometimes affects my confidence, and while I recognize that its not such a big deal I cant help but think I would be better off with a full head of hair. I stumbled upon this website and was wondering if any of you could give me some advice, are there any products that may help for my situation? Or do I need to just forget about it and get on with life..? I have attached a pic for reference.

I'm pretty new here as well, but the best advice for someone losing his hair is to get on the "Big 3":

1) Finasteride (Propecia, Proscar, Finpecia, Fincar). Generally 1mg a day is recommended, although some people use less. This is the only oral medication approved by the FDA for male pattern baldness.

2) Minoxidil (Rogaine Foam/Liquid, Spectral DNC, etc) - Only proven topical for regrowing hair.

3) Nizoral shampoo - Available in either 1% and 2% strengths, the active ingredient, Ketoconazole, has been proven to inhibit DHT in clinical tests.

These are the proven products and most people start here. You can also add Tricomin, which has proven copper peptide ingredients shown to inhibit DHT and thicken hair follicles.

Beyond this, you venture into the "experimental" and "unproven" categories. Some common ones are

1) Topical spironolactone - Topical DHT inhibitor
2) Fluridal/Eucapil - Anti androgen (not yet available in the U.S)
3) Revivogen/Crinagen - Some have claimed success, others claim it is snake oil.

There are many others as well. I'd recommend the big 3. Your hairline seems to be the biggest issue here. Do you have thinning on the top of your head as well? In any case, Rogaine Foam has been shown to work well on the temples.

Edit: Instead of Finasteride, some will recommend Dutasteride, which is a stronger medication that inhibits more DHT than finasteride. The risk of side effects is higher and it is much more expensive. I, personally, recommend starting with finasteride first and going to dutasteride only if finasteride isn't working.

Your hairline receeded quite a bit man.

You said that you're hairline has always been high, especially the temples. Don't think you'll be able to regrow hair where it hasn't even existed! But anyway, if you think there's also been some temple recession, a bit of foam couldn't hurt. I wouldn't use finasteride if you're not sure that you're also thinning.

Only a hair transplant can lower those receeded temples . But you should get on finasteride to prevent anymore loss.

Joe, your hairline is receding, it is receding very fast doesn´t look good for a 20 year old. You are already a Norwood 3. You gotta do something about it. My advice would be Finasteride in order to stop it. If you want to lower your hairline you might look into a hair transplant, but the priority should be to stop your loss.
