Hi, I am 20 years old(21 in April) and this would most likely mean I am too young for a hair transplant? The risk of not maintaining in the long term would be too great(maintaining on finasteride just now)

However, with new treatments potentially on the way that will provide sideless maintenance, if not regrowth, this would no longer be an issue. Right now I am nw2ish with crown thinning and slight(only thinner when wet ) diffusion. My questions are:
How many grafts would I need for crown and

In my opinion you are too young. My hair loss although its different than yours, strated at that age. But i dont have the crown problem. If you do it now, in 3 or 4 years max you are going to make a transplant again. And 3 or 4 years again because you are losing air in the crown pretty fast for that age. It will most likely progress forward. And at 30 you will not have much more donor grafts.. my advice is to take alternative medication to prevent the loss and in a few years then consider. You can see a doctor right now but be aware that a lot of them will not be ethical enough to consider your future

No intention of getting a hair transplant in in the near future and I'm already on treatments(Look at my regimen)

I was just interested in how many grafts I would need and how much this could cost roughly?

The crown is maybe 1500, nobody would touch the rest. If done in the US that's maybe 8 grand, overseas much cheaper.

According to me, your age is not enough yet to get desired results with hair transplant surgery. If you proceed with surgery without having the consultation with an experienced doctor then you may have the risk of losing hair even after surgery. So, you should get advice from experts before taking any decision.
